The coat on these types of dogs usually grows to a fairly long length. It is a good idea to clip it often so then it is easier to care for. If you are going to keep the coat long, you will need to take much more care of it. This means that you are going to have to brush it multiple times per week.

It is important to know that these dogs do not shed at all. This means that dead hair can only be removed by grooming. If you have a show dog you are going to have to take care of the dog even more so. When clipping the hair, its best to use a lotion so that the hair does not split when you clip it.

These dogs are not supper expensive but they will cost you a fair bit of money to buy and own one. You are also going to be putting a lot of time and effort into maintaining one so you need to consider that as well.
