Belief - the power of the mind - if you can see it - you can do it - but we need the self discipline to first see it - a mother's wrath seeing actions against her children or loved ones is one of the best ways to describe the emotion needed to be harnessed - survival to return to those same loved ones just as strong - I believe we all have these instincts - the difference between those who have used them and those who have not had to is HUGE - while experience is the best teacher - in the case of self defense one of the best ways may be to immerse ourselves in as much educating and research as we can - Linda

The mind is a very powerful tool. If one believes they can achieve something, it is more likely to achieve it. Believing that you can defend yourself on your own, would allow yourself to feel empowered and be able to. Muscle memory, along with mental awareness is the key to be sure you will know how to act in a situation that could be threatening.

Great comment that this has worked for others, so it is so simple to believe.

I strongly agree that the mind plays an improtant role. I have gone through a self-defense course with RAD, and when they do the simulations, even though you know the people will not harm you, all you can think about is fighting back. The survival instinct kicks in.

I do believe in gut instincts and intuition. Being able to wrap your mind around those 2 things and protect yourself is a great gift and I can not wait to learn about Self Defence!!!

The training of the mind in self defense is so important. It does not matter how many skills you may have if your mind does not believe in them or yourself

A friend recently was attacked and saved herself. She has taken self defense and was prepared. I have sent this information to friends and family and I hope they all take it.

I really agree with what was said about the postive mindset, I think you have to believe in your self to defend your self.

It is good to hear that it is not about size or strength, but rather what is on the inside - your mind. Personally I have felt fearfull of a bigger, stronnger person being able to overpower me and I look forward to learning some skills and praciticing posative thinking so that I can overcome that fear.
