Novelty Cufflinks

Some say that the word “novelty” is the most subjective word in the English language. It’s derived from Latin, meaning “new,” although most in today’s world see it as reflecting a more abstract sense; i.e. striking and/or unusual. Keeping with this definition of the word, there are plenty of people around who love a good “novelty” item. One item you may not readily expect to find in the novelty category is a pair of novelty cufflinks. But after looking around you’ll easily find hundreds if not thousands of pairs of these whimsical accessories for your French cuff shirts.

Novelty cufflinks are a far cry from designer or antique cufflinks. For starters, the novelty versions are a whole lot less expensive. Although you may still find a few pairs of novelty cufflinks in the pricy range, they’re still basically affordable on practically any budget. Some of these cufflinks are available in gold and some have jewels, but they’re really few and far between, and would mostly be classified under a different category entirely.

What I mean by novelty cufflinks are the sports teams, the little clocks, the funny images and cufflinks in the shape of cars, animals, Rubik’s Cubs, bullets, Zippo lighters, and other whimsical designs. While these cufflinks might not be the best gift to give someone on the more serious, always-in-fashion side of life, they’re definitely something that most average guys and gals would look forward to. Novelty cufflinks make great gifts, no matter what time of year you give them. Whether it’s on a birthday or just a Wednesday, these links will surely brighten a day.

Most who enjoy novelty cufflinks don’t wear them so much as collect them. Collectors are always after the latest novelty released. These little links might not ever touch a shirt, but they’re among the most prized possessions a collector owns. If you are a collector, it doesn’t rightly matter what type of material the links are made of, or what the particular design is, you just want something that you don’t have in your collection. And as most find out, there’s a new pair of novelty cufflinks to be found every day.

If you’re not a collector of novelty cufflinks, then there’s no better time than the present to start. Perhaps you’ve received a pair of Buffalo Bills cufflinks for your birthday or Christmas. Now that you have one NFL team, complete the collection and go for the other 31 teams. Why not? It makes a great, inexpensive hobby. The same goes with any “type” of novelty: any sports franchises, car manufacturers, Armed Forces cufflinks, cartoon characters, and the list goes on and on.

Once your collection gets going, it’s important to keep these cufflinks clean. This is when a good cufflink box or case comes into play. It will allow you to keep them safe or to display them. Since they come in pairs, there’s really nothing worse than losing one of these tiny items. A cufflink box will take care of this problem.

Express yourself vividly with one or a ton of the most outlandish novelty cufflinks on the market. They’re great items for a great price.
