Have a Minute? Want To Go for a Walk?

Sun Bounces
What a beautiful day. The sun is warm, bright and bounces all over very blue water like a dance. As I walk along the shore, the waves seem to crash into the shore just a bit more gently than the day before. Ah, now I see why. Those gentle lapping waves are extending the longevity of a number of sandcastles standing at attention and saluting this big ocean blue.
As I passed by these great sandcastles, I wondered who made them? What were the builders experiencing as their visions stood up and came alive? I could picture many hands working quickly as bucketsful of sand and water are dumped on top of each other. They firmly tamp the mounds with the shovels giving more shape to their structure. Then, they gently carve out all the details--windows and doors, turrets and more. Some castles have ramped walkways that travel around themselves, others have big arched doorways that invite you in. A more ambitious builder added crenellation at the top-a defensive barrier in the times of Arthur.
In describing the sandcastles to my friend, she asked, ‘did you take a picture?' No, I hadn't but what a great idea. I ran down to the shoreline once again. By the time I reached the display, it was too dark to take any pictures, at least for my beginning photography skills. There was, however, a beautiful sunset with the harbor in the foreground, and a huge harvest moon behind me rising between the trees. This is a beautiful place-luxury at its best.
Could It Be?
The next day, I went down to the shoreline to see if the castles were still standing. As I was getting closer to the shore, I could see in the distance an unusual boat anchored outside the jetty of the harbor. I looked again. It's a pirate ship! The mates are probably lunching at the brewery.
As I turned to continue my way toward the castles, there stood two pelicans, basking in the sun. They watched me as I watched them. I don't believe I've ever been so close to pelicans before. The warmth of the sun was just too good for them to take flight, so they just watched hoping I was a friend. I am definitely a friend. They're so odd and yet so beautiful particularly while they glide through the sky, riding the thermals and hugging the shoreline.
At last, I reached my destination. There they were. Some castles were down and some were still standing. They had been an inspiration to me and others who had passed by. I could see one family busily re-constructing a castle that had been washed away.
This was a very fun two-day excursion. Being able to experience the quintessential summer day on the shore day, imagining the making of all those sandcastles and seeing them stand in all their regala, the pirate ship, the pelicans...simply by taking a walk. How great is that!
Experiences of Life
It's the experiences of life that we're looking for, not all the toys and things. We just want to experience all these glorious events, big and small. So....take a walk. Get out of your cars and take a walk. There are glorious experiences awaiting you. Check out the pictures to experience mine.
Where do I get the time for such excursions, you might ask. Passive residual income from my home based business.

Oh I forgot to tell you, because of a great pelican friend I met at Clearwater Beach one year, I have a cement pelican sitting by our pool to keep us company year round :)
