Have you been dumped from a relationship? I am looking for real life stories of people who were either dumped or when...
61During my junior year in college I fell in love with a guy who was the drummer of my cousin's band. They were not that famous yet, but they had 1 song played in a local radio station. During that time Alternative Rock was such a big hit so when they went on tour and played on Rock oriented places people really liked them.
I didn't know whether that guy really noticed me, but he was polite enough to always acknowledge my presence when he saw me at their gigs. Finally one day I got a phone call from him and he actually asked me out. I was just ecstatic. My heart pounded double the time.
It went on for like 6 weeks then he finally said he really cared about me. My heart melted and I was in pure heaven. Then suddenly everything turned sour after a trip we took out of town. We spent a week on a cruise and when we came backI didn't know why everything felt so different. He just came up to me one day and said "I'm sorry but I honestly can't be with you anymore."
I drowned myself in alcohol and when I got drunk I started crying and I told him how horrible he was for breaking my heart. He just sat there and didn't say a word. The next day when I woke up he was gone. sniff sniff.

How awful for you t0niesjv, seems a really harsh way to be treated - no discussion or reasoning, maybe his self image was just a little inflated and he wanted to make hay while the sun still shone on him!
Thanks guys. It was harsh and humiliating but life went on.
I dumped my boyfriend two years ago. He was a nice guy but he drank too much and acted strange. He would always apologize afterwards and for a while I kept on forgiving him. He would sometimes think it was funny to do mean things to me. The worst thing he ever did to me when he was drunk, was he lifted my skirt up at a bar we were in. I couldn't believe it. He just grabbed my skirt and pulled it right up. I was so embarrassed I just froze. It was awful! I walked right out to my car and I told him I never wanted to see him again. I broke up with him right there. He called me a couple of days later and said he was sorry and that he was trying to be funny. How is pulling up a woman's skirt funny? I really don't think he understood how badly he humiliated me that night. I still have an occassional nightmare about it! I'm ok now and I believe I am better off without him.
That's horrible Rachel. He might be alcoholic you know if he always drank and did crazy stuff. Good for you for moving on.
Yes, it was horrible. Even though it's been two years, I still question weather my decision was right. From a purely logical point of view, I know I am better off without him. But, my heart still may harbor some feelings. It's odd, I know. My family and friends have all shared their opinions, and they are surprisingly quite varied. Some say I was completely correct to dump him. Others have said I should have tried to "work it out". Still others said I should have clobbered him. (I really disagree with that one. That wouldn't help.). If the same thing happened to you, what would you have done?
Hi again Rachel. I am not proud to admit that I have had several relationships, but it also help me realize a lot of things. It made me a better and stronger person. During dating and boyfriend/girlfriend stage you'd think that the ultimate mistake and heartache is if your love would cheat on you. Then evidently when you're married and have kids it is completely different. Still when you are only boyfriend - girlfriend respect is an important factor. If making fun of you in a way that completely distroys your self confidence then that's another thing. I have had a relationship one time that the guy actually cheated on me and even hit me and I still loved him; then I realized if I can't love and respect myself who else will and that was the time I dumped the guy and made him cry. I wouldn't know exactly what I would do in your situation. I don't know if you guys have been dating for long, talking things out helps, but in the manner you told me he just always seemed drinking I would think he has a drinking problem. Anyway hope you are ok.
Hi, again. Thanks for listening. It seems that what I've been describing is trivial to what you have been through. I hope you're ok now, though. I've enjoyed posting here. It's therapuetic, actually. Good luck with this website. Take care of yourself!!!!
It is very therapeutic to write here. I really enjoy it too and I am glad in helping you in anyway I can. I enjoy writing since I like writing based on experience. I don't make up stories to get attention. So it is fun to know that a lot of people out there read what I write. Take care too!
Hi thanks for sharing. Rachel I am so glad you dumped him. I know you still wonder if you did the right thing. But I belive you cannot make a wrong decisiongs. Whatever happens is for the good, no matter what. I have been through really bad situations myself, and being from India, it is very difficult to explain to people. In america others dont bother you as much as in India. Anyways, I am so happy I finally resolved issues and learnt a bunch of stuff.
Would I go through this again? No
But I admit it was a needed learning lesson, very needed.
toniesjv I totally think you deserve the best in life.
That is horrible!! I hope he paid for the cruise and it wasn't you, anyways you deserve better then that and you certainly did not need him as you are better then that.:)
