Having One of those Days?
59I'm having one of those days...
One of those days where I can't sit still and I have tons of projects to complete, but I do not know what to do first. I find myself wondering aimlessly around in circles, at times chain smoking because I can't settle my mind to focus on one thing for more than five minutes.
I am wondering if I am suffering from A.D.D. When this happens, and it seems to be more and more, I start doing one of two things. I start to read anything I can to de-focus my attention and I listen to music. These two things tend to calm me for at least awhile.
I am very into Madonna's new CD Hard Candy. I don't know how many Madonna fans are out there (actually their are millions) but I admire a person that can inspire me to get up and move. I love to dance, and listening to what I believe is good music makes me smile, and smiling is always a good thing in my book.
Lately I've been inspired by some really nice people I've met on Hubpages and also with some motivational books. One that I start my day off with is, Until Today! by Iyanla Vanzant, who in my opinion is one of the best devotional/inspirational writers today. If I'm really struggling and I need to re-kindle a balance in my life I do the 40 day personal growth study called, One Day My Soul Just Opened Up, and I get my head back together.
I love music and books and I use these tools whenever the what if, only, because and whenever this happens, that will happen comes my way (every other day), and somehow I manage to get inspired, sit still and focus to complete at least something everyday! Music and books...what a perfect combination for renewing my strength!!

Hi Cheryle,
I hope, when you read this, that "one of those days" will be long gone for you.
Music and books I agree are a great way to deal with "that disease" LOL that we all experience at one time or another.
I used to watch Lyanla Vanzant on "Starting Over" as a life coach with Rhonda Britten. I loved those two ladies. I have not read Lyanla's book but I have read Rhonda's book "Fearless Living". Chills run up and down my spine whenever I think about Rhonda Britten's childhood and how she overcame it. I have so many books on my list I want to read and Lyanla Vanzant's "Until Today" will be added to it.
Thanks for this hub. I believe a brighter day is here so lets "Claim It"? See ya around the hub. ~Dottie~
