Having a family game night with little kids
54
Having a family game night with little kids can be fun. It could also be a headache at times, but all and all it is worth it. Here are some tips to have a great game night if you are playing with little kids.
1. Give Everyone a job.
It’s no fair if you are playing a game that only big kids can play. If you have a kid that is too small to play give him a job like being in charge of the timer or making sure no one is cheating. This way no one feels left out and everyone feels like they are doing something important.
2. Pair kids with adults.
Sometimes the adults just have the advantage in the game. For this reason it can be a good idea to make teams. Make it one adult with one kid against another adult with a kid. This way the adults can help teach the kids and everyone can have a fair shoot at winning.
3. Let kids help make decisions.
Little kids want to have a say in things too. You can help them out by letting them make decisions on which games to play, where to play, or what snacks we should be eating.
4. Play Jr Games
Playing Jr games is a fun way to get little kids used to playing everyone’s favorite games like monopoly or clue. It can also help raise the excitement level because when they are finally big enough to play real games they’ll be dragging you out to play.
5. Remember their bed times
Remember kids need to get a lot of sleep to help them grow. You shouldn’t keep them up too late even if they want to keep playing. It might be okay to let them stay up a little bit past their bed time, but not a lot.
