Sunsets of My Heart
69Romanced by the Sun
"They may as well have called the sun a ball of flaming joy." ~Star Richés
I don't think there is anyone that has lived (and passed), and who is alive today, in this entire universe that has not been lavishly 'kissed', or romanced by the sun. That is one of the most amazing privileges nature has given us in our daily existence. Yet, for many earthlings, our busyness robs us of this divine gift called "sun", described by Jessi Lane Adams "the epitome of benevolence, of life giving, warmth giving and happiness giving". How gloomy our life would be, derived of sunshine, sunlight, sunsets and sunrise. Without it we die, as simple as that.
I am one artist who is guilty of stalking her, like a fan does her favorite celebrity. I bask, stare, use, intrude, photograph and make poor imitations of her beauty. But, that's alright i guess. She never seems to mind. On the contrary, i get the feeling she likes the attention. If there is a love affair between us, she keeps the secret very well. I like that. You can't have a better friend than that.
Here's a little poem of a tribute i wrote for my bestfriend and confidante SUN:
THE SUN OF MY LIFE
You spoil me, and how I seek and crave your touch.
I love it that you love on me without limitation
You have not failed me from the day i was borne
Your incredible golden hues delight my eyes and soul.
You are distant yet so close, fervent in your coming and going
How you keep me on my toes, filling my senses with surprises.
You can be gentle and subtle, soothing my tired mind.
Then, with great timing, you're ablazed, a work of art!
You can be bold, intense and hot, you know the trick, I'm in awe
Reflecting in your presence, you've exposed my vulnerability
Mere human, weak and fragile, i found myself humbled
You give, much more than anybody can ever give back
You show up like a paid actor, eloquent and beautiful
How is it, you've never complained at the ugliness of it all?
You have the power to burn and punish ingrates etal
A ball of mystery, a daunting planet, why do you still visit us?
You are a friend to the friendless, a warm blanket to the homeless
For years, you have watched over me, brightening my days
I have not been as gracious, rather i have been self absorbed
But, now i honor and thank you, for the magnificence of your love

Thank you Ladybird33! That would be nice if this will help our tourism. I fell in love with Hawaii 30 years ago, and i'm so happy to be settled here. You must visit again.
The pictures are amazing. Excellent hub.
Thank you milynch43! Appreciate your visit.
I love your photography. I'm jealous of your surroundings! Some of the most known people who worshiped the sun were the Aztecs (but I believe you to be more of an admirer).
Thank you for sharing this and I will visit you more often!
Thanks so much dohn121! Millions of tourists flock to Hawaii and lay out, mostly in Waikiki to enjoy sun and sea. They stay out so long, you would think they are worshipers! Come and visit!
I live In San Diego right by the beach and we get some pretty nice sunsets here . But I have also been to Oahu and Maui a few times too and they are just breathtaking sunsets ! You feel like you are In the presence of the almighty himself . Great photography IV !
Thanks Tony! I've heard about San Diego, and in fact have friends who live there. You are blessed! Hawaii indeed has some of the most beautiful sunsets! Thanks again for the compliment on my photos. Thanks too for the visit!
Sunsets - nice pictures and discription. Once I was traveling in Maxico on a bus. The driver stopped at a deserted place. When I asked 'why stop', the driver and the passengers tried to explain to me but I did not understand a word of Spanish. After about ten minutes, the truth dawned at me. Just to our right was a wide lake and the sunset was awesome.
Thanks for sharing your sunset story. Once more we realize there's no language barrier when we let nature do the speaking. Thanks for your visit and comment.
