Many Maritime and Skilled Labor types of jobs are available and expanding numbers fo positions through 2014 in Hawaii, as compared to the continental USA, where IT (Information Technology) and Healthcare jobs more often lead the opportunities in those states.

Jobs as ship engineers are expected to triple by 2014, a near-200% increase.

Sailors, marine oilers, marine engineers, naval architects, and ship's officers and crew positions offer workers the greatest number of job openings overall. In the Number 7 slot of the Top 20 Jobs in Hawaii, motorboat operator is also in this maritime category. Several IT jobs are also in the Top 20. Healthcare positions and skilled labor occupations round out the Top 20, joined at the end by musicians and singers. A variety of occupations in Hawaii that are hiring.
