Global Harmonization of Hazard Classification and Labeling Systems

The United States and many other countries throughout the world have developed a Globally Harmonized System for the Classification and Labeling of Chemicals (GHS). The GHS is the culmination of more than a decade of work.

Regulation of Hazardous Materials Transportation in Commerce

The Hazardous Materials Regulations (HMR; 49 CFR Parts 171-180) specify requirements for the safe transportation of hazardous materials in commerce by rail car, aircraft, vessel, and motor vehicle.
