Headaches Its Causes and Treatments
74Headache is not a disease, it is a symptom of a physical or emotional disorder. It occurs when the arteries in the head and neck dilate and press on cranial nerves.
Types of Headaches :
- Migraines - is a recurring headache, characterized by severe throbbing pain on one side of the head or above one eye. It last for a few hours to a few days and may be accompanied by nausea, vomiting, dizziness and an increased sensitivity to light and sound.
- Cluster Headache - is characterized by a shooting pain over one eye. Often accompanied by runny nose and watery eyes.
- Tension Headache - is characterized by dull pain on both sides of the head.
Causes of Headaches :
- Hormonal disturbances
- Depression, Anger, Fear, Guilt
- Food allergies
- Accumulated toxin in the intestine / body.
- Excessive use of alcohol and cigarettes.
- Constipation, Indigestion
- Stress, Lack of Sleep,
- Reading in poor light, Excessive bright light
- Fever, Toothache, High Blood pressure,
- Allergic reaction which attack the areas of the mucous membrane internally and externally such as those around the eyes.
- Inflammation of the temporal arteries (could be symptoms of Atherosclerosis and Aneurysm).
- Only one side of the head aches in the temple.
- Reading in poor lighting, excessive bright light, physical exertion, blows to the head, sinusitis, cold, indigestion, intoxication.
- High blood pressure, allergy, dental problems, ear infections, lack of sleep, arthritis, hypoglycemia, fever.
Recommended Treatments for Headaches :
- Learn how to handle stress, do yoga and meditate regularly, 80% of headaches are caused by tension and stress.
- To prevent this type of pain you have to learn to detect the moment in which the first symptoms of pain occur. Generally, this is after an emotional outburst of anger or frustration, relax completely.
- Take a deep breath and hold it, tense all the muscles, and then relax as you exhale. Do this 3 times, imagining that you are in the peaceful place. Keep breathing deeply and relax your body until you are completely calm and at peace.
You must also do the following :
- Take aspirin, analgesic for the pain to disappear.
- Sleep 7-8 hours a day in the bed with a firm mattress.
- Always maintain a positive attitude, and don't worry in order to avoid stress and emotional tension.
- Have a regular schedule for meals and don't skip meals.
- Exercise regularly, this will help release your stress.
- Detoxify your intestine a few times a month or at least once or twice a week.
- Have a check up with a professional chiropractor, because the cause of your headache could be a misalignment of the vertebrae in the neck.
