Mental health is linked to physical health. When our minds are stressed our bodies are stressed,but we rarly think about this. Why is it when someone is in a state of panic are they told to breath deeply?
It's because it relaxes the body and the mind by taking in more oxygen. Meditation is a great way to relax the mind and that in turn relaxes the body. your body reacts to your mind.When you wake up after having a nightmare,you may be shaking,blood pressure is raised,and heart rate is elevated.
All these bodily functions occur because of what went on in your mind,even though none of it was real.It stands to reason if your body can act in this way when your mind is in turmoil,it should be able to act in the opposite way when the mind is relaxed.
Learn to relax and don't let the small stuff bother you.
I found this article misleading. I have read "Heal Your Body--in fact it was my "Bible" for many years and I still use the basic concepts in my life. However, the article implies that it is more addressed to obesity and weight loss than it is. It is addresses MANY illnesses and bodily conditions and doe not focus particularly on weight and those health issues at all. One could by extrapolation use the book to track down one's limiting beliefs and thereby heal oneself of any ailments--including obesity. But I finished the article wondering if this woman actually ever read the book at all. What she says about the mind body connection and obesity I agree with, but I think people will pick up the book expecting something totally different from what they get.
Also in her final paragraph she calls the book's approach "nonsensical" (meaning it doesn't make sense) when I think she means "no-nonsense" (meaning "straight-talking". Perhaps English is not her first language?

Yes this very true eating the right foods helps you lose weight...grilled or broiled chicken,lean beef and veggies,carbs should be sweet potatoes,green beans,,carrots, and small salad romanie only..much better than iceberg and very little pasta,rice. It's very inportant that you are Active three to four days a week..walk, run, bike,work out with weights I like thjs my self it burns fat fast with 30 minute walks or bike,run. The Bottom line You have Eat right And Exercice to loss body fat. Start out slow and build to a good pace and start burning Fat in 2008..goldman123..Smile Always..
