Arousing our Healing Potential

Good health is not a luxury. We all have to make a deliberate effort to develop and nurture a healthy lifestyle in order to promote our physical, emotional and spiritual well being. This personal initiative automatically brings us to a state of balance, which is such a basic need for each and everyone of us.There is an urgent need for us to open up,explore and embrace all the different methods available to address the whole aspect of our nature and well being.By so doing, we arouse our inner healing potential and naturally place ourselves along the healing path.

What the Body Knows

Let's have a look at the body as a separate living entity that we interact with as partners. It takes in whatever we put into it and is constantly aware of what we do to it.The body knows when you work throughout the night without rest, when it is cut in a surgical operation, when you are under attack by internal or external enemies and even when you loose your temper. It responds to all our actions and sometimes raises complaints in the form of illness.Healing he body requires an understanding of the true causes of suffering, the emotional state surrounding the condition and our belief systems.

Healing the body therefore involves restructuring our energy that has become distorted, misaligned or suppressed. It includes looking into the causes of the problems we experience in life and the pain associated with them; it is a conscious action where a person is guided to create their own unique transformation process to ultimately do away with the cause of the symptoms; and discovering the mental, physical, emotional and spiritual aspect of a person.

Our physical body can be affected by many things that surround our environment. Pollution through air, food, water ,chemicals etc., lack of proper nutrition, lack of proper body hygiene, neglecting oneself though exposure to stressful activities are but some of the ways which lead to poor health. Healing the physical body constitutes the cleaning out of all these toxins from our body. There are many ways of implementing this e.g. through vitamins, colonic flashes, diet, water consumption, etc. It is very important that you are well informed and get the help of a qualified professional, as there are tests that can be done to find out what your body is lacking or not producing.

Concerning Mental Health

Our conscious mind filters every thought, feeling, idea, situation and experience. It makes distinctions, interprets, classifies, critiques, judges, compares, computes and then accepts or rejects input from outside sources. Our mind/body therefore acts as a virtual storehouse for all our feelings and sensations from the past. This explains why the mind is easily upset. Remember that, emotionally strenuous issues lead to extreme stress and mental breakdown. Negative emotions held within theĀ  mind prevent good health from manifesting at the physical level.

Unfortunately, due to faulty beliefs that were programmed since childhood, the conscious mind can actually deny information that is vital to the healing process, no matter how profound or positive the new information can impact our lives. Healing of the mind is therefore very important and can be carried out through making the mind accept new beliefs. By providing new and accurate information and positive experiences, one can re-create a whole new sense of being.

One of the most appropriate ways of healing our body and minds is through taking control of our whole self. Our state of wellness or disease reflects conscious choices of love, forgiveness, and gratitude or of fear, anger, and despair. Conscious "thought directions" play a role in guiding the body toward wellness or disease. Per the instructions you communicate through your thoughts, your body becomes a physical manifestation of your mind. Making the conscious choice to fully feel, experience, and release emotions is necessary to maintaining a healthy body. Emotions in and of themselves are neither good nor bad. Expressing anger, for instance, can be inappropriate or therapeutic.

Managing Anger and Stress

Effective strategies for releasing built-up emotions may begin with physical activities such as walking, biking, or golfing; emotional outlets like laughter, tears, or talk therapy; or tactics that draw on mind and body for expression, such as yoga, gardening, watching a movie, listening to music, or connecting to nature.

There are many ways of healing the body and mind which one can explore for holistic healing. This paper has just but addressed a few and it is advisable that the reader delves into the matter more deeply in order to be able to live a more fulfilled and healthy life.
