Health And Fitness Email Marketing
66How To Write Emails That Sell Your Products!
Health and fitness related products are among the most sought after products on the Internet. Literally thousands of websites either promote or sell items such as nutritional supplements, exercise equipment, workout clothing and accessories, herbal remedies etc etc. Many of these website owners accumulate lists of customers who have either inquired about products, or have purchased products in the past. In order to secure a customer's continued business, website owners will introduce products to customers via email. When this type of email marketing is done correctly, customers will be much more likely to make a positive purchasing decision.
Stay Away From These Mistakes
It is quite possible to make mistakes in email marketing. Spam filters are getting more and more sensitive to the content of emails. For example, stay away from words such as "free" or "guaranteed". Any words that appear too "hypey" will cause your email to be blocked. This is true whether the words appear in the subject line or in the body of the email. Email Services usually have software that allow members to measure the potential deliverability of their emails based on spam content.
The Keys To Email Marketing Success
Almost all of health and fitness email marketing involves physical products. Because of this, the goal of your email is to get the customer to take a certain action, usually clicking on a link. The link will take the customer to more information on the product, along with the ability to make a purchase. Many website owners feel like the goal of the email message is to sell the customer on the product.
WRONG!
The goal of the email is to "tease" the customer. To create enough curriosity such that the customer will want more information. Remember, they just have to be curious enough to click a link.
The "teasing" begins with the subject line of the email. Whether it is health and fitness email marketing, or email marketing for any product or service, the subject line is the most important part of the message. Generally it is best to use the customer's first name in the subject line, although it is not essential. the subject line's purpose is to create enough interest such that the customer feels compelled to read the rest of the email. For example, with a health related product, an enticing message might read: "Joe, finally an FDA approved weight loss pill that actually works to melt fat away!"
O.K., The Customer Is Reading The Email, Now What?
The first paragraph should give a brief explanation of what the subject line was referring to. Your interior message should be written in short sentences, and your paragraphs should be 2 or 3 sentences. People tend to scan when they read, and if your email appears too "wordy", your customer may not read it at all! Each paragraph should reveal a benefit of your health or fitness related product.
After each brief paragraph, place an enticing text link which takes the customer to the product's sales page. For example, your link might read: "Go here to discover what other excited (name of product) users are saying!"
