sardines have very little mercury in them because they don't live as long as tuna so it is not as big a deal as eating a lot of tuna.
Very informative and very well written hub len. Omega-3 and omega-6 essential fatty acids are of my interest too.
I just started eating sardines in a sandwich every day because of the health benefits. My poor dog was diagnosed with diabetes and had blood sugar levels all over the place -- we took her off the kibble and factory food [even though we always bought her the most expensive, highest recommended] and started making her food -- she eats a lot of sardines. To me, she is all better and the vet said her blood sugar does not fluctuate as much anymore. I think people and animals should take a serious look at sardines as a cheap way to supllement their diet -- omega 3 and co-enzyme q-10 for so cheap?? it's wonderful -- a gift from God.
Q10 slows down the aging process among other things.
