Health Problems Connected to the Lower Spine

Sciatica, Sexual Dysfunction, Colitis And Difficult Periods Can all Be Connected To Problems In the Lower Back.

1L is the uppermost of the lumbar vertebra and 1L nerves connect to the large intestine and inguinal rings (inguinal: relating to or affecting the groin). Problem can be constipation, colitis, dysentery, diarrhea, irritable bowel syndrome, some ruptures and hernias.

2L nerves are connected to the appendix, abdomen and upper leg. Related problems can be cramps, acidosis, difficulty breathing, varicose veins, sciatica and ileocecal valve dysfunction.

Author’s note: The ileocecal valve is a little known, and less understood, part of the anatomy. Many problems diagnosed as other internal organ dysfunction can often be caused by the ileocecal valve. See my to be posted article(s) on the ileocecal valve.

3L nerves are connected with the sex organs, uterus, bladder and knees. Related problems can include urinary bladder problems, menstrual troubles such as irregular periods, difficult periods, miscarriages, bed wetting, impotency, change of life symptoms that are out of phase chronologically, and many different knee problems.

4L nerves connect to the prostate gland, muscles of the lower back and sciatic nerve. Related problems can include sciatica, lumbago, difficult, painful or frequent urination, and backaches. Personally I also found, because of accidents involving this area of the lower back, that when I experienced a misalignment problem at the 4L vertebra I also had problems with constipation which ceased as soon as the misalignment was remedied.

5L is the last of the lumbar vertebra and the nerves connected with 5L go to the lower legs, ankles and feet. Related problems can include poor circulation in the leg, ankles and feet. Swollen ankles, weak ankles and arches, cold feet, weakness in the legs and leg cramps.

Nerves in the sacrum are connected with the hipbones and buttocks. Related problems can include sacro-iliac conditions and abnormal spinal curvature problems.

Nerves in the coccyx, the tailbone, are connected with the rectum and anus. Related problems can include hemorrhoids, pruritis (itching) and pain at the end of the spine on sitting.

If we look back over the nerves, and the areas of the spine they originate from, it becomes apparent that if we have a specific problem it may be possible that it could be remedied by a competent chiropractor, particularly one who’s knowledgeable in diet and preventative medicine. It also becomes apparent that many internal abdominal problems may be the offshoot of carrying too much weight around and pulling the spine out of alignment.

If your car is out of alignment it won’t run right, neither will your body. A general feeling of malaise and many major health problems may be solved with a trip to, and tune-up by, your chiropractor. Plus, the trip may save you a lot of money on purple pills.

This is great stuff.. I have always been scared of chiropractors though.. :( Unfortunately, there aren't any over here where I live, the practice just never caught on. Maybe I can drive to Germany. :)

Thanks for the read. There are lots of exercises for strenghtening the back and promoting better health. I've been using some for forty-five plus years, after an accident that prompted a group of doctors to tell me I'd be on pain pills and in a wheel chair or crutches for the rest of my life by age thirty. That was thirty-seven years ago and not true. I have a friend who is a chiropractor, but I've never been to him. Stay healthy and keep writing, Larry

Thats a good analogy - people get their cars a tune up and oil changes, but so few do the same with their bodies. So many poeple suffer from health problems that could have been avoided with some preventive actions.
