True Healthcare Reform: Cope Or Hope Part 2

This article is an excerpt from The Fount Online News.

Healthcare Reform is the hottest national topic in politics and today's news. Who's healthcare plan is it anyway? Even though it's been popularized as being 'Obamacare' it's not actually President Obama's plan because the Houses are the ones devising the plan for reform that the President is calling for on behalf of the American people. The plan even includes many Republican ideas.

The fierce arguing we see against healthcare/health insurance reform right now is a result of fear: fear of the unknown, fear of death, fear of a lack of money to pay for such reform (as if God no longer supplies), fear from believing the misinformation spread by special interest groups and those who don't want to help the poor.

Certain insurance companies who now report record profits have been dropping customers who have been paying premiums for years when they get sick, and excluding those who have pre-existing conditions. It is believed some of these are spreading the propaganda of fear against reform through the media, certain elected officials and other means with deceptive lies and scare tactics, thus fanning flames of fear in those who walk by fear rather than faith.

Fear only connects people to the spirit of fear who is the devil himself, and we can see the crazy-mad reactions of people who act out their fears in front of cameras at certain town hall meetings in various places of the country. They make great news stories. But God commands us to "Fear not." God did not give us the spirit of fear, but of power and love and a sound mind. A sound mind is a WORD-controlled mind and not a worry-controlled mind.

When somebody is diagnosed with a serious debilitating disease and has insurance, but the insurer either won't cover that disease or consequently drops the insured altogether - what's a person to do? Maybe the insurance covers the insured but they can't afford the medication. Maybe the insurer will cover the insured, but exclude that particular disease they have and still rate the policy sky high because of that disease.

These vicious cycles are everyday realities, and mostly everybody agrees on the fact that some kind of healthcare/helath insurance reform needs to take place in this country.

While the Democrats come up with a plan that the Republicans seem to always resist even though that plan contains Republican ideas, with all the speculation of how a government-run public health insurance option won't pass the Senate but an insurance co-op will pass the Senate even though the President believes a public option serves America's interest the best, as the risk of NO reform bill being passed increases - what's a sick person to do in the meantime, just lay down and deteriorate?

In addition to seeking a healthcare/health insurance reform bill that best suits America, this is a very critical point in history when all Americans must activate a positive and hopeful mindset that looks way beyond the limitations of man.

We must choose to believe we are NOT at a dead end, and with God's guidance and the supernatural intervention He promised, we SHALL overcome all healthcare issues on the personal and national levels. When one accepts God's Word as being truth over and against the limitations of man and man's word, new possibilities begin to surface.

Have you ever wondered why the standard treatments for cancer (chemo, radiation, surgery) have not changed over the past 60 years or so? In this Christian nation of ours, when we're given a bad diagnosis from a doctor how many times do our doctors actually honor God by praying with us for an answer?

Anytime 'man' acts like he has all the answers, we know right then that we are in trouble because humans are limited in knowledge. The reason we need faith is because there's always something we don't know: we don't know what we don't know. But God knows everything and He says we have not because we ask not, and if any man lacks wisdom, we are invited to ask God Who doesn't hold back but gives to all freely according to their faith.

God already sees our way clear through all disease and sickness. This country which claims to be a Christian country that was founded upon Christian principles – this country will continue to experience more and more devastating healthcare costs if we don’t change our mindset by allowing God to place His mind in us through our prayers and our knowledge of His Word so that we can see our way clear the same way He sees our way clear.

This country’s back is against the wall, and sometimes that’s the best place to be. When we finally realize that God's Word is our only hope, THEN He can show us His awesome power to change any situation. At such a point in life, we really need to understand the significance of God having created us in His image and likeness. Because we have the same creative abilities as God (although not nearly to the same scale).

The reason I know is because of my 88 year old grandmother. When the doctors told her she had diabetes after she went to see them about a slow-healing cut on her finger, she accepted what they said - at first that is.

But after some time she got to thinking about how good her health had always been, and that she didn’t have to have diabetes just because somebody told her she did! She shared with me that those people probably could not believe how healthy she was for her age and they must've figured that SOMETHING had to be wrong with her somewhere – so they probably assumed because her sugar was high at the time that she was diabetic like most Black women her age.

She may have indeed been diabetic or pre-diabetic, but she decided if something was wrong with her, she was going to do something about it. So, she prayed and changed her diet by cutting back on breads and sweets, ate plenty of vegetables, a few fruits - a good balanced diet. She told me "You got to have some sense for yourself, because God gave us 5 senses just like everybody else. The stuff they give you doesn't make you well anyway."

Although she did no vigorous exercise that younger people do, Big Mama became more active in her church, got out of the house more and gave of herself to those who were less fortunate by visiting people in convalescent hospitals. Over time she lost weight, maintained a positive mental attitude and exercised her faith in God.

As it turns out, Big Mama did things that many doctors, dieticians and nutritionists advise to lower weight and maintain a healthy diet. Whatever her doctor thought was wrong with her after a while her high sugar was gone. And to this day, except for the one she calls "Ol Arthur" (arthritis in her knee) overall she is healthy, in her right mind, takes good care of herself by herself and is about to turn 89 next month.

Big Mama will be the first to say that her life is in the Lord's hands. She taught me that God can and will guide us in what to do, but He won't do our part for us. We have to claim the healing God promised us, let God do His part and then take the necessary steps to make good health happen.

God performs supernatural acts of healing and there are natural means by which one can be healed. Many people in the medical profession acknowledge that the human body heals itself when given the proper nutrients, yet most are not trained in the field of clinical nutrition because of their faith in drugs.

Since food substances can't be patented, the pharmaceutical industry typically seeks to synthetically reproduce the healing power of herbs and other natural substances by way of a man-made process that can be patented to make huge profits. If they can't reproduce the healing power of an herb that's been scientifically proven to heal a particular ailment with a drug of their own, they have no financial incentive to educate the general public about an herb that heals, and most likely won't.

And when they CAN create a drug that mimics the healing power of what's already found in nature, unfortunately some of their side effects are worse than the condition they treat and at times they can kill. Therefore, it's very important for people to find out what's good and bad for their bodies on their own before they open their mouths to consume anything, be it drugs or even food.

While registered dieticians provide good general information about the right foods to eat and the wrong foods to avoid, their medical training doesn't encourage much in-depth scientific study of natural herbs which contain substances known to kill pathogens and/or build immunity. If medically trained dieticians don't conduct this vital research on their own, then what informtion do they offer that isn't already in mainstream media, or that can't already be found at one's fingertips on the internet?

Just as Big Mama suggests, seeking God’s wisdom through prayer is the first step. Some things we already know to do like eat right and exercise. We absolutely must do this work of faith because God is no respecter of persons. Even light exercise like walking among other things stimulates the body's lymph nodes to enhance immunity. The body was designed to be worked, thus exercise is absolutely necessary and the right fuel for the body is also imperative.

One of the first orders of business is to determine the root cause of disease if at all possible. One little known yet devastating cause of disease that we suffer from today can be traced all the way back to biblical times: FUNGUS.

In our next segment, due to it's ubiquitous nature we will discuss how members of the fungus family (mold, mildew, yeast, anti-biotics) invade our bodies, set up unwanted residence and unite themselves to us in a parastic relationship. Until death do we part - either we kill the fungus or the fungus kills us!

The Ubiquitous Nature Of Fungus

We did not plant these single-celled organisms, they SPRUNG UP on their own!

Hi Dave. I agree that healthcare needs a rehauling but some of those provisions in the President's bill are alarming to me. I think that the people raising up will get more dialogue going and we will get some good reform out of it. This was a great hub as usual. You know I pray for you all the time brother and I love you big time. God bless you my heart is with you.

Hello Bob,

Yes, I hear you on the necessary provisions in the President's bill. So true! What I don't like is the way it's been rushed, because there are several different versions of it that all need to be merged into one, and this kind of thing takes much time, scrutiny and hopefully bi-partisan consensus.

My hubs in this regard speak more towards our individual responsibility to change according to God's Word in order that we all can minimize the need for any healthcare at all.

Thank you so much for your prayers and encouragement. I greatly appreciate such Godly companionship.

May You And Yours Continue To Be Blessed!
