Healthy diet is the key good health. Good eating habits not only provide you with all the nutrition to function well, but also prevent you from diseases. In short, for a long and a happy life healthy eating is paramount.

Find below some simple yet effective tips to ensure that you get good nourishment from what you eat. f foods: Make sure that you don't make specific foods as your favorite. No one class of foods contains all the nutrients that we need. In general, eat nutritious foods including breads and cereals (prefer wholegrain), vegetables, and fruit. Take less salt and foods that contain added sugars.

2. Be on a low calorie diet: Try eating more of the foods which, though give you a feeling of fullness, yet contain low calories. Some examples are broccoli, low fat Cottage cheese, pasta (wholemeal boiled ), spaghetti (boiled), yogurt. Also, avoid foods high in sugars e.g. chocolate bars, pies and candy.

3. Eat small to moderate portions: This is all the more important when you eat out, as the portions over the years have grown. Avoid ordering large sized servings and split a dish with a friend, etc.

4. Eat frequently: Instead of the conventional three times a day eating schedule, break it into eating 4-6 times of smaller portions. Also, eat more, early in the day and less as the day ends. This will help your body to use up the calories you ate early during the day.

5. Drink healthy: Our bodies need water to keep us well hydrated throughout the day, the general advice is to drink 6-8 glasses of water a day. For alcoholic drinks, consume them in moderation, and try to avoid them before bedtime.

6. Cut-down on cholesterol and fat: Try to ensure your cholesterol intake to less than 300 milligrams in a day. Cholesterol is found in foods such as poultry, meats, egg yolks, and dairy products. In addition, avoid animal fat because it is saturated, prefer skinless poultry, lean meats, or nonfat dairy products.

Aside from food, physical exercise for 30-40 minuets each day (or on most days of the week) also helps you keep you body's functions intact.

So if you eat healthy, you're most likely to catch health just as Robert Ingersoll had wished.
