Dog Food Ingredients - Exclusive Chicken and Rice Large Breed Adult

Ask Susan Peters Dog Food Review:

Exclusive Brand CHICKEN & RICE LARGE BREED Puppy For Dogs 50 Pounds and Over Dry puppy food is no better than Ol' Roy just more expensive. Look at the junk Exclusive wants us to feed our large breed puppies.

A dab of chicken packed in an over used amount of grains. I know Exclusive wants us to believe these grains are good for our dogs but we know our dogs are meat eaters and many grains are toxic to our dogs.

Lets take a look at Exclusive's use of corn, for example. Exclusive incorporated corn in the form of corn gluten meal. Corn gluten meal is a cheap filler used by pet food companies to reduce production costs. Gluten is a super concentrated mix as is "meal". So the corn in this mix is actually at least 5 times the amount listed.

We should take time out from this review to remind ourselves of the good and bad effects of corn in a cat or dog's diet. *Corn, wheat and soy are resonsible for fever, ear aches, ear infections, bad bread, dental disease, hair loss, dry and itchy skin, bloat, tumors, warts, moles, abnormal nail growth, arthritis, deafness, blindness, digestive problems, inflamed liver, inflamed kidneys, bladder problems, heart problems, and death. Oh yeah, for the good effects of corn - reduces the cost of pet food production.

Beet pulp is another cheap filler used by pet food companies. "Beet Pulp" sounds good, doesn't it? Well it's not. Just because Grandma told us we had to eat our beets as kids doesn't mean it is good for our dogs. Grandma didn't take the nutrients out of the beet and leave us just the dried fiber to eat, did she? Junk, that is all beet pulp is.

Natural Flavor. I always like the way pet food companies hide the use of manure in the ingredients. Natural flavor is made from the manure of the animal the pet food company wants the dog food to taste like. Yep, Exclusive Chicken is flavored with chicken manure.

We have two labrador retrievers, a 4 1/2 year-old chocolate lab and a 10 months old black lab. The Vet told us to feed both dogs with the same food, because the dogs were eating each others food and the puppy really needs to get all the nutrients from the puppy food. So we have been feeding them both with Exclusive Chicken and Rice Large Breed Puppy Dog Food, which great results. We used to feed our first dog with Purina PMI for puppies and he did good with that food. Then we changed to Purina PMI for adults and then they changed their name to Red. Our dog had his first seizure when he was 2 years old and in total he has had about 6 seizures until we changed his food to Exclusive Chicken and Rice Large Breed Puppy Dog Food. We think it could be the omega oils that these food has. This month we will change to Exclusive Lamb & Rice Adult Formula because our black lab will be a year old. We were not which adult food was going to be better, the Chicken & Rice Adult Formula or the Lamb & Rice Formula. So we checked online and the Lamb & Rice Formula has better ratings because has no corn and no gluten. Is this food ok for Labrador Retrievers and for Large Breeds?
