Healthy Lunch Recpies

Giving you child the nutrition they need can sometimes be hard. You would think that they get the nutrition at school but the truth is most kids don't like the cafeteria food. Since your child is growing they need all the nutrition they could get from every food group. With healthy lunch recipes you can find some recipes that include all the nutrients they need. You can also find some that are fun and easy to make. Your child will enjoy making them and most important of all eating them.

Dairy
Most children enjoy drinking milk and eating milk made product for example cheese, cottage cheese and yogurt. You could make them a simple snack like cheese squares with crackers. Milk products can sometimes be a problem for some children, unfortunately they might be lactose intolerant. This just means that the child's small intestine is unable to break down lactose. Don't stress, your child can still get their daily dairy needs with Lactaid, Soy Milk, and some lactose free products.

Meats
Meat is an all time favorite for anyone and there is a wide variety of recipes to choose from. Lunch recipes vary from chicken nuggets, meatballs, fish sticks, etc. There is also a choice of peanuts, almonds, and walnuts. You can even add some black or pinto beans.I don't think you will have a problem finding a great recipe idea with this food group.

Fruits
Fruits are the best choice if you want to snack on something in between meals. Making a healthy lunch recipe out of pure fruit is easy too all you need is...Fruit! Have fun with it too you can make the fruits into shapes. Use cookie cutters to give the fruit a shape such as flowers, cars, heart or even dinosaurs. Shape some fruit its into squares add lemon and salt and you have a fruit cocktail. One thing you have to remember is that kids love finger foods because they are fun and easier to eat.

Vegetables
Some parents might be having trouble feeding their kids vegetables. Kids love sweet tasting food and some vegetables taste like medicine or sour. One thing you can do is mix the veggies with something sweet. Give them broccoli with cheese on top, carrots with cream cheese, or celery with peanut butter. These are just some ideas ask your child what they love and add it to some vegetable and they might be willing to eat it.

Grains
Last but not least is the grains which also has quite a variety of recipes all on its own. Pasta, muffins and noodles are just a few that pop into my head. For snack time you can give them crackers with oatmeal. I'm sure that if you look around you too can come up with some great tasting recipes.

One great healthy lunch recipe that includes one ingredient from every food group is the Torta. The torta is exactly like a sandwich but with a bigger bread. Tortas make a great lunch recipe and you can mix the ingredients around. You can even make your own drink with fruits to accompany any lunch recipe you make.

This is the sandwich that includes a little from all the food groups.
I love making and eating it, it's also colorful!
