55Healthy Snacks That are Yummy, Too!
Back in the early 1980's, a partner and I had a group of medically supervised weight loss centers. The centers offered a variety of weight loss approaches. Regardless of the approach taken by the patients, they always craved snacks that were friendly to the palate. We scoured the low-carbohydrate, low fat, and low calorie counter guides, and came up with these timeless classics!
- One cup of blueberries, A hard-boiled egg,Two kiwis, 2 ounces lean roast beef, one cup of strawberries with a teaspoon of fat free topping (these are separate- not all together)
- 2 slices of deli turkey and spicy mustard rolled in lettuce leaves.
- 10 cashew nuts
- 3 ounces low fat cottage cheese and 3 wheat crackers
- Tomato halves sprinkled with dried bread crumds and broiled
- Two pieces of Laughing Cow cheese spread into celery stalks
- Two large graham-cracker squares with 1 teaspoon peanut butter
- Four mini rice cakes with 2 tablespoons of low fat cottage cheese
- 1/2 of a small avocado
- 1/4 cup low fat ranch dressing with assorted raw veggies
- 10 almonds
- 1/2 of an apple with 2 teaspoons of peanut butter
- 1/2 cup orange sorbet
- 10 pretzel sticks
- 1 ounce of either cheddar or mozzarella cheese
