Pot luck parties are very easy to organize. It is no wonder that a lot of people have chosen to implement this in their parties. Hosts no longer have to worry about slaving over the hot stove, creating around 10 dishes for the dinner party. They have ingeniously distributed their tasks to their guests. The upside of this is having lesser work and having the opportunity to ask each guest for their specialty. The downside? Well, let's put it this way. Not everyone knows how to cook. Some dishes can be put beside the macaroni cheese of one of the Desperate Housewives.

Of course, now that the trend of pot luck parties have caught on, some people found themselves with many pot luck parties to attend. During the holidays, cooking need to be squeezed in between time with the family and shopping. And, for working people with busy scheds, making room for hours of cooking can be really difficult. So, here are some delicious and healthy pot luck recipes that you can use for your next party.

 


Creamy Garlic Dressing

You only need a few minutes to prepare this with a blender. Even better, this dressing can be used to create different dishes. You can create a salad with lettuce, shredded carrots, apples and grapes using this dressing. You can even add some nacho chips to the salad to add an extra crunch. You can also choose to serve it as a dip with sliced vegetables, pretzels and nachos.

960 calories for the whole dip

Ingredients:

1/4 bulb of garlic

250 mL All Purpose Cream

1 bar of Cream Cheese

1/2 lemon

salt and pepper to season

Procedure:

1.) Put the garlic into the blender and slowly grind it.

2.) Once the garlic has become fine, add the Cream Cheese and All Purpose Cream. Blend it again until it becomes creamy.

3.) Squeeze some lemon juice into the mix and add some salt and pepper. This time, just pulse the mix a few times.

4.) Voila! Now that you have your dip / dressing, start slicing your vegetables and adding your chips.


Sausage Sandwich

This is perfect for people who want to pack up a lot of protein their diet. You can also throw in some Kettle potato chips on the side.

Makes 12 servings, 107 CALORIES PER SERVING, PROTIEN IS 4.75GRAMS /SERVING, CARBOHYDRATES IS 6 GRAMS /SERVING, FATS IS 72.5 GRAMS/SERVING

Ingredients:

2 Tbsps of Extra Virgin Olive Oil

8 small Sausages of your choice

8 cloves Garlic, chopped

1/2 cup thinly sliced Onions

1/2 cup chopped red Bell Pepper

1 cup sliced Button Mushrooms

8 Tbsp Tomato Ketchup

Salt and Pepper

4 pcs Focaccia bread

Kraft 2% Milk Singles cheese

Procedure:

  1. Heat the olive oil in a nonstick frying pan. Cook the sausages.Remove the sausages and drain on paper towels.
  2. Add the garlic to the pan and cook until slightly brown. Add the onion and cook till it becomes translucent. Add the bell pepper and cook till pepper is soft. Add the ketchup,salt and pepper. Remove from heat.
  3. Toast bread lightly and slice lengthwise. Put on the sausages, cheese, and mushroom mixture.
  4. Put the six toothpicks on the bread to mark the protions that you will cut, making sure that each layer are stuck together before cutting the bread into small pieces.

Of course, if you really are pressed for time, you can always dial the number of a restaurant or fast food and order a few boxes of pizza or some gourmet dishes. The food that you're going to get won't be as inexpensive or healthy though.
