Let's consider the definition of a woman from the Oxford Dictionary. It says an adult human female and for hundreds of years, that has been the definition of a woman. I wonder what would happen if some group begin a movement or debate or argument to insist that a newly identified specie of rare animals be called WOMAN. They begin a campaign and insist that law makers in Washington amend the Constitution to change the definition of woman.Ahhhh.......

I feel the same way about the issue of gay and lesbian union. Who can stop them from existing or who wants to deny them the right of being? They have the right to be and do whatever they want after all this is the land of liberty. They have a right to call their union whatever they wish and insist on every right they deserve.

But I don't think they have a right to redefine the word marriage.

This is the definition of mar·riage (from Oxford Dictionary)• n. 1. the formal union of a man and a woman, typically recognized by law, by which they become husband and wife. ∎  a similar long-term relationship between partners of the same sex.

∎  a relationship between married people or the period for which it lasts.

Let's look at the real issue here and that's the issue that gay and lesbian union should be called marriage. It should be called something other than marriage. I believe their advocates should sit down and come up with a word suitable to describe their union.
