Healing the heart after breaking up

Heartbroken? Wondering if you will ever get over it? You will! I'll tell you how. Like my Mother has always said, time heals all wounds. You may not get over him/her over night but it will happen. Start with a few of these tips.

First Seven Days

1. Give yourself time to grieve. (Put a deadline on it, suggestion less than week)

2. Eat all the Ben and Jerry's you want within that week.

3. Burn, cut, or make a target out of his/her picture. (Just one, not all of them)

4. Listen to your song or any others that remind you of them.

5 DO NOT and I repeat DO NOT call him/her

6. Buy something special for yourself

7. Do something you couldn't do when attached

Ok...so it takes seven days to break a habit. Just think of it like that, they were a bad habit. Now it time to move on.

After the first seven days

1. Hang out with friends

2. Start you regular eating routine

3. Put all those CD's that remind you of him/her away

4. Begin making plans for the future that will make you happy

5. Start having fun being by yourself

When the time is right, start dating again. Be sure not to carry any bagadge from your previous relationship to the next. Or it will be destined to end in heartbreak too.

Remember : Everything happens for a reason. When one door closes another one opens. This incident could very well be a blessing in disguise.
