Graham Hancock Part 1

Part 2

Part 3

Ancient History Brought To Life

I remember World History being the most boring subject I had to take while in school. In recent years I have found Earth History to be the most fascinating exploration I've ever undertaken during my lifetime.

Perhaps this is because of that old saying, 'when the student is ready, the teacher will appear'. Perhaps because with public education there is a set curriculum for all schools to follow and you are to learn these things at specified times, not related to when you are ready and willing to receive the knowledge, it makes our learning more difficult for us.

Graham Hancock is just one of many people who have dedicated their lifetimes to presenting to us all that was before in a manner that shows us how all the past actually connects to and afftects our todays on this planet.

And these people I speak of bring it all to us in a way that captivates our attention and entertains us while sharing great knowledge. Perhaps too, it is because a dialogue between two or more people, or interactive teachers that allow more student input into the conversation is simply more compelling in form of presentation of knowledge than one person standing behind a desk or podium and doing a solo lecture, or even most textbooks.

I feel today, truly, as so many others do, that we can get more real 'education' through other sources than we ever could through public schools.

Even my grandchildren are utterly intrigued by so many of the interviews, tv shows and books I've been bringing forth to them while on my own journey, and they are learning as much as I am....happily, I might add.

Perhaps that is the real key to learning the most one can about things that are interesting. The way the knowledge is presented. It must capture the interest of the student and the learning process must be entertaining as well as simply being a compilation of useful information.

Graham's site....link below...is, in itself one of the most amazing websites I've ever visited online...chapters from one book, with awesome pictures by Santha Faiia....a forum, a guest author of the month that interacts with all of us in the forum for an entire month, world events, a library, gosh...so much there to explore.

Enjoy too, this radio interview, with Art Bell, of "Coast to Coast" AM Radio, and Graham Hancock. And following that a short video of Graham that is very interesting also.

Will look forward to all of your views, comments, etc.

About this interview...from source

"Filling in for George, Art Bell welcomed researcher and author Graham Hancock, who discussed lost ancient civilizations and the importance of exploring our own consciousness.

Hancock reiterated his premise that technologically advanced societies existed on Earth as far back as 12,000+ years ago -- the end of the last ice age. He said these civilizations were lost when a gigantic comet collided with the planet, causing the ice sheets to melt and raising sea levels by more than 400 feet.

As evidence, Hancock pointed out that large stone monuments, some as big as Stone Henge, can be found 120 feet below the surface of the ocean off the coast of Japan.

According to Hancock, the Mayan calendar may provide an ancient warning of yet another cataclysmic event -- this one set to occur within a 40-year window surrounding December 21, 2012. Hancock believes the consequences of this future catastrophe could be less damaging or averted entirely if we can learn to transform our consciousness.

Hancock also strongly advocated a person's right to explore his own consciousness by using substances found in certain 'sacred plants.' He detailed his life-transforming experiences taking an ayahuasca brew made from plants containing a naturally occurring hallucinogenic known as dimethyltryptamine (DMT), as well as talked about Dr. Rick Strassman's work with the substance.

Almost everyone who uses DMT encounters the same beings and receives the same kind of messages, Hancock reported. He believes these commonalities show that the drug helps people journey into a real spiritual realm, and proves that our consciousness survives death.

Graham Hancock is the author of the major international bestsellers The Sign and The Seal, Fingerprints of the Gods and Heaven's Mirror. His books have sold more than five million copies worldwide and have been translated into 27 languages.

His public lectures and TV appearances, including the three-hour series Quest For The Lost Civilisation, have put his ideas before audiences of tens of millions. He has become recognised as an unconventional thinker who raises legitimate questions about humanity's history and prehistory and offers an increasingly popular challenge to the entrenched views of orthodox scholars.

He graduated from Durham University with First Class Honours in Sociology. He then went on to pursue a career in quality journalism, writing for many of Britain's leading newspapers."
