Heisman Finalists and Prediction

Sam Bradford (QB - Oklahoma Sooners): The great arm of Sam Bradford has lead the Oklahoma Sooners on the brink of a National Championship. Bradford has put up impressive numbers as well. Even in the Sooners only loss to Texas, Bradford still put up some impressive numbers, going 28 of 39, 387 yards, and five touchdown passes. Oklahoma powerhouse offense was lead by Sam Bradford awesome play and strong leadership.

Season Stats: 4464 pass yards, 68.3 completion percentage, 48 TD passes, 6 INTs, and 186.3 QB Rating

Colt McCoy (QB - Texas Longhorns): The 12 year old looking QB for the Texas Longhorns has had an amazing season. The only difference between this team playing in the Fiesta Bowl or the National Championship game was 1 second against Texas Tech. The last second loss eventually cost the Longhorns a shot at the National Title, but that didn't stop McCoy from putting up staggering numbers.

Season Stats: 3445 pass yards, 77.6 completion percentage, 32 TD passes, 7 INTs, and 179.2 QB Rating

Tim Tebow (QB - Florida Gators): The dual threat QB, Tim Tebow, in the opinion of many, is the early favorite to win the Heisman once again, which would make him only the second player ever to win the Heisman twice. Tebow not only can beat you with his arm, but can beat you on the ground as well. His versatility makes him a very tough QB to read. Can he win it again? We'll see.

Season Stats: 2515 pass yards, 564 rushing yards, 28 TD passes, 2 INTs, 12 rushing touchdowns, and a 176.7 QB rating

My Prediction: All three of these quarterbacks would be clear cut favorites any other year, however, since they are all finalists this year, there is no clear cut favorite among these young men. In my personal opinion, I think Sam Bradford should win. His numbers are just staggering, and while they lost to Colt McCoy and Texas, it wasn't due to a lack of effort by Bradford. Now that is my personal opinion, but the person who I think will win is Tim Tebow, mainly due to the love fest much of media and sports writers have for him.

Final Results:

1. Tim Tebow

2. Sam Bradford

3. Colt McCoy

Make sure you cast your vote for who you think will win the Heisman trophy. We'll see if the final results in the poll are anything like my prediction and the actual results this Saturday.

Examining the BCS Bowl games and Predictions

Orange Bowl: Cincinnati vs Virginia Tech

This game has to be exciting for Bearcat fans, and somewhat of a disappointment for the Hokies, who started out the season with much higher hopes. While the Bearcats have an impressive record, you must have some concern with their weak schedule. The Bearcats didn't really show any kind of domination in many of these games, many of them had them just barely getting a win. While a win is a win, but the fact it's against a less than stellar opponent, the nod has to go to the Hokies in this game,

Prediction: Virginia Tech 31, Cinicinnati 16

Rose Bowl: Penn State vs USC

While this game looks like a great matchup on paper, it will not play that way out on the field. While the Nittany Lions have had an impressive season with wins over solid competition, such as Ohio State, USC has dominated one opponent after another. Judging by Penn State's slim victory over Ohio State and lack-a-dasical play late in the season, especially against Iowa, one has to question if they have the mentality to go up such a formidable opponent. USC showed just how good they were by crushing Ohio State, and playing against a improved Pac 10.

Prediction: USC 34, Penn State 13

Sugar Bowl: Utah vs Alabama

While Boise State shocked the nation a couple years by pulling off a upset over a heavily favored Oklahoma team, the Utes have a tall task in taking on the Crimson Tide, who were number one in country up until the SEC Championship game. While Utah has every right to be in a BCS game, they do not belong on the field with the Crimson Tide. The only way the Utes will have a chance is if the Crimson Tide are still hungover from their loss to Florida in the SEC Championship game. However, that is wishful thinking, and Alabama should cruise to a victory in this one, in what could probably be the most lopsided BCS game this year.

Prediction: Alabama 45, Utah 7

Fiesta Bowl: Ohio State vs Texas

The classic 2005 matchup between these teams has to be one of the best games in the last five years. However, these teams look very much different now than they did then. The two questions you have to ask yourself are: Can Ohio State's great defense shutdown Colt McCoy the way they did in 2006? Can Texas's defense shutdown the rushing attack of Ohio State's Chris "Beanie" Wells? The team that wins will be the team that shuts down the opposing offensive threat. I have to give the nod to Texas, as Ohio State has not faired well the past couple BCS games, and while young Ohio State QB Terrelle Pryor will be a force to be reckon with over the next few years, he will struggle in this game, especially if the running game is not working.

Prediction: Texas 31, Ohio State 21

BCS National Championship: Florida vs Oklahoma

This game will be one for the ages in my opinion. Although a controversial matchup, many who thought Texas should be here instead of Oklahoma, should be a great game. The speed and intensity of the Gators against perhaps the best offense in college football, in Oklahoma. The difference will come down to which team wants it more. Although it might not come true, but from past BCS games, the team with the Heisman winner tends to lose most of the championship games (Crouch, Smith, Bush, etc.). So, it will come down to whoever wins the Heisman, his opponent's team will win the game. It's prediction time.

Prediction: Oklahoma 34, Florida 31

That's it for my Heisman and BCS Bowl Predictions. If you disagree with anything, from outcome of the Heisman, to the result of a particular game, let me know by commenting and explaing why. Like I've said before, I always enjoy feedback from my readers. Make sure you vote in both polls on this page, one for the Heisman and the other for which game you think will be the best to watch.

Thank You,
