Help Me: How do I stop biting my nails?

Nail Bitting

Nail bitting is a bad habit but it can also be medical problem. I used ti bit my nails all the time when I was younger. My parents tried everything to stop me from bitting. When I was a teenager my nail bitting got really bad. I used to bite my nails right down to the skin. I went to see my doctor and he asked if I bite my nails more when I am stressed or if I did it when ever possible. I told the doctor that I bite my nails more when I am stressed about something. The doctor sugested that I tried a clear nail polish. The nail polish was to help stop bitting my nails. It seemned to work for a while because the taste was horrible.

Here are some signs to show if you have a medical problem with bitting your nails:

1) you seem to find yourself bitting your nails more when you are deep in thought or when you feel down.

2) You bite your nails until the tips of your fingers bleed.

Here is how you can stop:

1) Use a clear nail polish

2) Put some nail hardner on your nails(this is a awful tasting substance) it will help because most people do not like the taste.

If your problem is just a bad habbit try chewing a peice of gum or something chewy. You may also want to wear a light pair of gloves. Sometimes the gloves will help teach you not to chew your nails.

i tried the nasty tsting stuff, and it pissed me off that bad. i stuck my fingers in my mouth until i got used to it, then caried on, i might try the gloves. i had false ones put on but i got annoyed and ripped them of. nothing seems to work.
