Help Stop the Killing of Innocent Pit Bulls and Pit Bull Look-alikes
71Please don't let them get me!
Euthanasia isn't right for man or beast: speak out!
OK, so some pit bulls are dangerous. The aggressive types, yes, need removed from society to protect everyone, for sure.
But not all pit bulls are dangerous. In fact, Pit Bull is actually a term that the general population used to use for describing any of several breeds of dogs in the Molosser family that used to be for dog fighting. Among the breeds are the Staffordshire Bull Terrier, the American Pit Bull Terrier and the American Staffordshire Terrier.
Some of these dogs are dangerous, yes. But not all. Some pit bulls are genuinely passive, gentle loving best friends and companions in their families. They've never shown any aggression at all.
But that doesn't matter. Current legislation wants all pit bulls destroyed.
Plus this isn't just happening to the pit bulls. It's happening to other dogs, too, dogs that "look" like pit bulls in some way.
You see today, a lot of the uninformed and misinformed public and the media are more vague with the breeds they toss in there under this ‘pit bull' blanket term. As long as the dogs have similar pit bull physical characteristics, too bad, similar to how Nazi's initially targeted Jews, then expanded their outreach to anyone helping Jews or having Jewish ancestry, or anything and everything Jewish, etc. That's how the new pit bull legislations seem to be heading....
Which other breeds of dogs are we talking about?
The Bull Terrier, Antebellum Bulldog, Boxer, Perro de Presa Canario, Alapaha Blue Blood Bulldog, Cane Corso, Dogo Argentino, Alano Espanol, Japanese Tosa, Dogue de Bordeaux, American Bulldog, Valley Bulldog, Cordoba Fighting Dog, Olde English Bulldogge, Banter Bulldogge and the Renascence Bulldogge for starters. Just because these dogs have similar traits, because of their appearances being somewhat close to those of pit bulls, they are sometimes included in legislation that seeks to destroy them across the USA.
What can we do?
Reach out and help share the correct information with others - your neighbors, friends, family, internet contacts, church members, co-workers, students, etc. Call your local congress representatives and let them know your feelings and voice your concerns. Also contact your local Human Society chapters to see if you can help with upcoming pending legislation plus help inform the public.
If you find lost dogs, seek help from pet authorities in your area to have them safely check for pet tags . They can place calls to correctly identity the animals.
If you have a dog that looks like a pit bull in any way, take good care to make sure it's in a secure and safe environment to the best of your ability. Use pet gates on the porch area, for example, so the dog does not run away.
Above all, stand up for what you believe in and help seek better legislation. Mass killing wasn't and still isn't right for the Jews or any people. And it's not right for animals, either.

It's a very tricky thing because some dogs are raised to be vicious and it's hard to tell what dogs will be brutal... but killing lookalikes in advance isn't right.
What a great hub, dogs are so cool.
Tyson, my pitbull is so amazing. All they need is love, like everything.
