Who to Call When a Tech Toy Doesn't Work

I recently ran across a site called Techlore.com which bills itself as a as Consumer Electronics Community and goes on with the further description as The place where both novice and expert users help each other with electronic devices.

The site has articles on all types of electronic devices – computers, digital cameras, scanners, music devices, etc., as well as blogs and forums where people can trade information and help each other.

While I don't have anything at the moment that I am having problems with, it is not uncommon for many of the numerous gadgets that have become necessary parts of our lives to malfunction or give us problems when attempting to operate them.  This site can go a long way toward making our lives easier when things go wrong with out gadgets.

But there is more as I explain below.

A Potential Directory of Manufacturer Support

However, the thing that caught my eye and took me to the site in the first place was an article by Matt Whitlock, dated October 20, 2006 and last updated December 27, 2006, that listed practically every manufacturer of consumer electronic devises. The manufacturers are listed alphabetically along with the URL for their Home Page, Support Page, Manuals Page, Customer Service Telephone number, Email for Customer Support, lists of local service centers and link to FAQ page on company website.

Visitors to the site are encouraged to submit any updated information for these categories (such as new web addresses or changed telephone numbers) for the companies listed as well as provide any information they have about companies not listed on the site. To submit information, you have to register and join, but anyone can simply look at the list.

I haven’t joined, but have bookmarked the Customer Support Contact Numbers page for future reference. Check it out as it could come in handy in the eveny you have problems with any of your electronic devices.
