By thinking out loud

They did try to invade every aspect of american life.

In a new book coming out, based on access to the Russian KGB archives, it is revealed that Ernest Hemmingway, noted author and american icon was once recruited to spy for the soviet union.  And by the accounts, it seems he went along with the program though he proved to be ineffective.   They say he was recruited while on a trip to China in the 1940's agreeing to work on behalf of the communists.  Within a decade he was dropped from the rolls because he could not come up with any viable or useful information.  Probably too drunk and partying to come up with any american secrets to sell.   It all adds up to further vindicate the Mccarthy era, though still villified by the american left as a witch hunt.  It has proven to be anything but, and a real threat did exist.  Once again the left in this country got it all wrong.
