Hemorrhoids Removal Options
65Introduction
If you have tried a number of hemorrhoid treatment options and the problem isn't going away, hemorrhoids removal might seem like a scary and daunting option.
However, there are a number of different removal options available.
This hub aims to provide you with a brief introduction to the different removal methods, helping you to be better prepared should you seek removal.
Hemorrhoids occur when the blood vessels of the anal area expand, which can cause a number of uncomfortable and painful symptoms. They occur for a number of different reasons, and can sometimes occur repeatedly, or more seriously, making removal necessary.
Removal can help to stop more serious conditions from developing, as well as treating the painful symptoms associated with hemorrhoids.
Surgical Removal Options
Remember, hemorrhoids removal is not the only treatment option. For more information, please see my other hubs. This hub is dedicated to the surgical removal methods, as follows:
1. Rubber Band Ligation
This option means placing a rubber band around the hemorrhoid. This works to remove the hemorrhoid by cutting off its circulation, where the hemorrhoid will disappear within a few days.
2. Hemorrhoidectomy
This is a type of surgery to remove the hemorrhoid permanently. This treatment is generally reserved for severe cases of hemorrhoids, and will be done either using a scalpel or a laser.
3. Infrared Coagulation
This is the process whereby the hemorrhoid is removed using an infrared device to burn the tissue.
4. Sclerotherapy
This is an older form of hemorrhoids removal which makes use of a chemical solution, injected into the hemorrhoid. This will cause a reaction that stops the blood flowing to the hemorrhoid, where the hemorrhoid will then shrink.
5. Ferguson Technique
This makes use of a retractor to expose the hemorrhoidal tissue, which will then be removed. What remains will then be sealed.
6. Laser or Electro-Coagulation
These techniques burn the hemorrhoid using different devices.
7. Procedure for Prolapse and Hemorrhoids
This uses a circular stapling device to stop the prolapse of the hemorrhoidal tissue. Excess tissue is removed, and remaining tissue is stapled.
8. Cryotherapy
This removes the veins by using cold temperatures. This is the treatment option that's associated with the highest levels of pain, and is not as effective as the treatments above - which is why this is rarely done.
Conclusion
Remember, hemorrhoids removal does not have to rely on the treatments outlined above. In fact there are a number of natural remedies that can lead to a full recovery, so make sure to seek advice from your doctor and try whatever you can.
