Hemp Seed Oil Benefits The Heart and Much More
79Hemp Oil comes from the Hemp plant. The unrefined hemp oil, which comes from the seeds of the hemp plant, is green in color and has a nutty taste.
It has anywhere from 30 to 35% oil per weight, which equals about 80% fatty acids, and is a very high resource for getting those essential fatty acids that everyone needs in their regular diet.
Hemp seeds contain 25% protein which act as antibodies and enzymes. In order for a protein to be considered as a complete protein, it has to have 10 amino acids in order to have the quantity that is needed for the body.
Amino Acids help to break down protein through the digestive system, and hemp protein contains 20 of the 10 that is necessary for one’s body. Hemp oil is phosphorus free oil that contains two types of protein, which are only found in hemp seed. Edestin, which helps in food digestion, has 65% protein make up, and Albumin which is also found in egg whites.
Hemp oil is proven to have around 80% polyunsaturated fatty acids, which are considered to be the fats that are good for our bodies, and yet our bodies do not produce these acids; they have to be taken into the body through a person’s diet. It contains substantial amounts of Omega 3 and Omega 6, which are necessary in producing fatty acids.
It also contains high amounts of vitamin E, which is an antioxidant, in the form of alpha, beta, gamma, and delta tocopherol and alpha tocotrienol, as well as vitamin A, chlorophyll, phosphorus, iron, calcium, zinc, magnesium, and potassium, as well as vitamin D.
Hemp seed oil helps to block and reduce the possibility of having an upset stomach and in preventing gas pockets. It doesn’t have the inhibitors that cause upset stomachs as the case with soy protein.
People that have taken hemp oil on a regular basis have been found to have more healthy skin and a strong immune system. Because of the high content of Omega 3 and Omega 6, hemp is a large contributor in preventing heart trouble, and also lowering the cholesterol level. It helps in the treatment of cancer, such as prostate, colon or breast cancers. It is proven to reduce dementia (Alzheimer’s), as well as the symptoms of Parkinson’s disease.
The high content of vitamin D helps in treating and in preventing osteoporosis, inflammation, eczema and psoriasis. Hemp is needed in very high quantities to promote healthy growth in children. Proper enzyme formations come from the sulfur containing amino acids that are produced from hemp seeds.
It would benefit everyone to take hemp oil as a dietary supplement to produce the good fatty acids that our bodies desperately need, but do not produce on its own. Almost everyone suffers from one or many forms of the ailments as described above and desperately need to help their own bodies to produce satisfactory results.

I've been taking a few tablespoons every day for years and new it was good but didn't know it was THIS good. I'm absolutely thrilled that it contains Vitamin D!!
Definitely a food item that should be more promoted. It was used widely 30 odd years ago and only now rediscovered

Hi Chantel,
I'm a hemp oil fan. I buy it from our local farmer's market, and drizzle it on my breakfast cereal every day, and sometimes use it in salad dressings. It has a pleasant, nutty taste, plus it's seriously good for you. I have definitely noticed the difference since I started using it. I knew that it contained the omega oils, but didn't know about the other minerals and vitamins, so it's good to know that it's even better than I suspected.
