Here Is An Interesting Short Story
55Young Entrepreneurs
It is Saturday afternoon in Darwin Australia where Ian and I live. It is a beautiful day and we have done the usual stuff around the house. We have started dinner a beautiful slow cook leg of lamb hot pot. Yum my mouth is watering just thinking about it our good friends Gail and Peter are coming over to share the meal with us tonight.
We are just getting into the swing of our on line business Ian checking things are in place for our marketing and I am writing some blogs etc. Ian thinks I am a long the same lines as JK Rowling but I know the truth.
Well our little dog Mackie starts barking, again, you know what little dogs are like and so Ian goes out to see what the noise is all about.
Next second there is a knock on the door and there are two young girls about 10 years old standing there. One of the girls was holding a little tray with some nicely wrapped parcels on the tray.
There they were with their little tray of neatly wrapped parcels ….going door to door selling something….They asked Ian if he would like to buy some cookies or biscuits as we call them in Australia. The gave their sales pitch and told Ian that they were 4 for $2 or 2 for $1 or 1 for 50 cents. Well they had struck the right person in this house as Ian is a softie for kids but also has a big sweet tooth. Well Ian bought 4 of course, paid the kids and came to show me what he had purchased.
On top of his hand sat a blue parcel with black ribbon holding the top together and inside was a small foil wrapped parcel holding four little chocolate cookies. Now you might be thinking delicious home made cookies but no they were out of a packet and wrapped into group of varying sizes to resell.
WOW are you as impressed as we were by the entrepreneurial spirits of these young kids. If they keep this up they will be the next multi-millionaires in our neighborhood. As I sit here writing this post I am still amazed at their ingenuity and drive.
No I am going to calculate the return on their sales just to satisfy my own curiosity.\ and I hope you have been inspired by this little tale.
Blessings Jenny
