Past and Present: Singapore History
72Learn about Singapore History & Its Heritage from National Library Singapore
Singapore history truly frightens me. I am embarrassed to admit my ignorance about Singapore's past and present, culture, events and happenings.
Perhaps history classes during my adolescence time were simply boring ... but again, it's becoming increasingly hard to dismiss the fact that I need to know more about Singapore history. This is when I say 'thank you, National Library Singaopre ... for bringing us Infopedia".
Infopedia (URL httP://infopedia.nl.sg) is a wealth of information about Singapore. The articles are almost like encyclopedia articles which gives a good overview of the topic in discussion ... accompanied by relevant reference for subsequent research.
Infopedia covers:
- Architecture and Landscape
- Arts
- Biographies
- Commerce and Industry
- Ethnic Communities
- Events
- Geography
- Nature
- Organisations
- Personalities
- Politics and Government
- Recreation
I find the articles written in a palatable manner ... 'bite-size' ... easy to read. This is very important especially since I an not innately passionate about 'studying' history again :O)
