At the 2009 Video Music Awards, a well known hip-hop recording artist and producer once again made a fool of himself. I'm referring to of course Kanye West. I doubt very seriously that Kanye West will ever see this article. And even if he did he probably could care less what someone else writes. As far as his fans are concerned, if reading this article don't dismiss it as coming from someone that's just "hating" on him. The fact of the matter is despite the talent and accolades that Kanye has received as well as the adversities he's encountered; he manages to act like a first class jerk!! Not just the incident in which he interfered with Taylor Swifts award acceptance, but on other occasions he has proved very offensive. If you recall some years back there was an occasion where he threw a hissy fit and stomped out of an awards ceremony because he didn't get the award that he felt he deserved. On another occasion he threw another fit backstage for the same reason. Then there was something else that was very disrespectful and very inappropriate! Some years back he was featured on the cover of Rolling Stones magazine in which he was clad with a crown of thorns on his head. The crown of thorns of course is what was placed upon the head of Jesus Christ before his death according to the Holy Bible. What is really disgusting is that Kanye has even on occasion compared himself to Jesus Christ. Kanye if you're out there let me explain this to you: No matter what adversities and negativity we will encounter in life; none of us including you will NEVER compare in any way to what Jesus Christ went through. That man was the greatest teacher and man who ever lived. This man had the weight of the whole human race upon his shoulders. So for Kanye to wear that crown of thorns and have the audacity to even compare himself to Jesus is blasphemous and it's an insult!! Then there was the incident that took place after the horrible tragedy of Hurricane Katrina. He embarrassed both himself and Mike Myers by making the statement on camera that George Bush [ the then US president] didn't care about black people. Now granted, the government showed a gross lack of urgency and gross incompetence in providing safety and refuge for the hurricane victims. But regardless of how the president felt about blacks; Kanye West should have been more concerned about the task at hand of raising money for the victims. Let me ask you this Kanye: Who appointed you as ambassador or god over black people anyway?! It's funny how he preaches about the disadvantaged and deprived condition of the black community. But he and others like him who supposedly are championing for the cause of a downtrodden group of people no matter what color; these people have always or are in a more advantageous position. Kanye West grew up in middle class surroundings in which both of his parents made a good living in their line of work. Kanye and others like him have the best of everything and buy whatever they want. So it's nothing but lip service. As an imperfect human with obvious failures and shortcomings, can Kanye really do anything to help black people or anyone else for that matter? NO!! Then recently he insulted one of the greatest entertainers of our modern time by insinuating that he would take the late great Michael Jackson's throne as "king". Kanye West even though talented can't even be labeled a "prince" in the hip hop genre. And the way he is behaving he's looking more like a court jester. Kanye West also seems to forget that shortly before breaking into the industry that he almost lost his life in a near fatal accident which resulted in his jaws being wired shut. And like him, I too lost my mother; last year on November 3,2008. But my mothers death taught me a valuable lesson in life and it has helped me to become a better man and human being. Kanye it seems hasn't learned anything!! Kanye if you're out there remember this: It doesn't matter what color we are or how much money we have or what we accomplish in this life. We only have a few decades on earth to enjoy it. Enjoy the fame and money that you have achieved and stop being obnoxious!! The way in which the entertainment industry and human society is set up; you can be on top of the world today and be completely forgotten the next. Anything can happen at any given moment. Yo can lose your money or some lowlife can blow you away and all that you've accomplished won't mean anything!! It's this simple: Get some help and please PUT A SOCK IN IT!!!
