Bugaboo Strollers - A Different Look and Name
What does a frog, a gecko, and a cameleon have in common? Other than the slime factor and long tongues, they are the names of the different strollers available from the premium stroller company Bugaboo.
The Bugaboo line is unique looking and versatile. Many moms cite the only drawback as the price but not a big enough con to prevent them from buying it.
Bugaboo Frog - $760 USD
Bugaboo Gecko - $680 USD
Bugaboo Cameleon - $900 USD
The Bugaboo stroller is a favorite of celebrity moms too. Gwyneth Paltrow has been said to push the Bugaboo craze to the next level when she was seen strolling her daughter Apple in one.
Bugaboo Frog
The Frog stroller accomodates children from birth up to approximately four years of age. Although by four most children will not stay in a stroller long enough to make it worthwhile having it with you.
Of the three stroller choices, the Frog is the middle of the road option - but still a premium quality item. The stroller truly is convertible to any mom's varying needs. It can be forward or rear facing with the reversible seat. Want to change directions mid-stride? With one motion you can reverse the direction of the handle and keep moving without missing a step. The larger wheels and the suspension make the ride nice and smooth for baby.
This system comes in seven color choices. What comes with the stroller:
- Chassis with wheels (the entire stroller can be disassembled for storage or to convert it from an infant carrier to a traditional stroller)
- Seat in the fabric color of your choice
- Bassinet with an apron and canopy (same color as the seat)
- Mosquito net
- Rain cover
- Underseat bag (the stroller does not have a built-in basket)
- Maitenance kit
- 2-year warranty
Bugaboo Gecko
The Gecko is a 3-in-1 system that can accomodate an infant seat, a reversible bassinet or a reversible seat.
The main difference between the Gecko and the Frog models are:
- Gecko comes with an aerosleep mattress and the Frog does not
- The Gecko seat cannot be used separately and the seat that comes with the Frog can
The Gecko is available in green, black, or red and comes with the same accessories as the Frog.
Bugaboo Cameleon
If the Bugaboo strollers are the top of the line then that makes the Cameleon the best of the best.
The Cameleon comes in four base colors with your choice of 12 additoinal colors for contrast - making many combinations to choose from.
Along with all of the other design innovations available on the Frog and Gecko the Cameleon offers the following:
- Adjustable swivel wheel suspension
- Height adjustable handlebar
- Tailored fabric set

Thanks Robin! It is a good thing for my husband and my pocket book that I already had a stroller when these hit the news.
Ha! Same is true for us. Do you know if they will be coming out with a double stroller? We have the Phil and Ted's double jogger that I love. It's great for the city because it's front to back. ;)
I've just started to research strollers and came across the Bugaboo line. I'm amazed at how popular they are even though, in my opinion they are way overpriced. It must be the glamour factor.
I was searching for "high end baby strollers", and came across your hub. Great info on Bugaboo!

Great hub! I see these strollers all over San Francisco, but I didn't know there were different models. I thought they were all the Frog. Very informative!
