In order to escape from the boring life of having to work every day for the rest of your lives (or until one retires, at least), people tend to look for fast ways to make easy money. Let's face it chumps, I will start this hub by saying that NO, there is no such thing as easy money. Because of their economic situation, people sometimes tend to let their guards down when they see a very tempting offer to invest in something. In recent times, these temptations can be seen in what is more often called as high yield investment programs or HYIP for short.

Basically, these HYIP's are like your ordinary investment vehicle. Someone will approach you, more often than not - online, to keep his or her anonimity, then offer you a very good investment program which will sound too good to be true. For instance, the person will offer you a savings account with an interest of 40% and above per month. You may think that these types of very high interest rates can only be seen in accounting and finance school books for practice, but yeah, you are definitely right. These impossible investment programs have interest rates which are so high because they are basically not true... all the time.

When it comes to investing your money, you should learn to be very careful. A lot of bad people are out there to take advantage of people who are in desperate need of money just to have food to put on their tables. However, instead of helping them, they steal from these people by offering them these high yield investment programs, promising them to give insanely high returns then performing a not so amazing disappearing act.

Don't lose your hope though, instead of these programs which will do nothing but eat your money, there are a lot of other incredible investment options out there.

For one, you could choose to participate in the stock market. One of the tools that people use to increase their wealth is the stock market. Basically, owning a stock is like owning a part of a certain company. When that company performs well for a certain accounting period, then the price of your stock will most probably increase, causing your money to grow. Of course, you will have to spend a few weeks learning how the stock market works. Investing in this will always involve a lot of risk, and it is best to take well-calculated risks.

You could also opt to invest your money in high yield savings accounts. In doing this, make sure to put your money in a trust worthy bank. You wouldn't want your money to be eaten by preys who will do nothing but burn your cash.

If you want to be rich, of course you will first work hard for it. However, it doesn't mean that you will be working hard for the rest of your life. Once you've worked hard enough and saved enough money to invest, then you can start putting your money in places where they can grow. Make sure to double check the safety of your investment option. More often than not, these high yield investment programs are just scams that will do nothing to your money. In fact, they will turn your money into nothing!

Be wise in choosing the next investment vehicle that you will ride. After all, you worked hard for this money! Now it's time for that money to work for you! Good luck and stay safe!

  • When to get long-term-care insurance

It's not alarmist to think that you'll need long-term care in your lifetime. Among Americans who reach their 65th birthday, 45% will have to pay for some kind of long-term-care services, according to the actuarial firm Milliman. - 2 years ago

  • Private nurses for common folks

You may think of private nurses as a luxury for the ultra-rich, like a butler or personal chauffeur. But hiring in-house medical care has become an increasingly viable option for regular folks too. - 2 years ago

  • The cost of long-term care

Some insurance decisions are easy. Take life insurance. You know you need it to replace the income your spouse and kids would lose if you died. Insurers don't have much leeway to dispute claims for death benefits because "deceased" is a pretty definite condition. - 2 years ago

  • Health costs race past inflation

Health insurance premiums in 2007 rose 6.1 percent, the lowest growth rate in eight years but still well above inflation and worker earnings, according to the latest annual survey from the Kaiser Family Foundation. - 2 years ago
