High school fund raising idea

1.) Probably one of the more popular ideas is to hold a car wash. The only items needed are a few buckets, some sponges and/or rags, some soap, and water. With this idea, there is very little overhead and lots of profit.

2.) Another easy idea is to hold a bake sale. The hardest part of this project is in finding somewhere to hold the sale. In order to keep costs down, ask that all parents donated baked goods to the sale, as well as others in the community.

3.) If you're looking to make more than just a few dollars, you might have the students publish a class cookbook. This will take some overhead to begin with, but can earn quite a bit. Have each student submit 2 or 3 recipes for the project.

4.) If you're planning a fund raiser around a holiday, try selling candles. There are several websites that offer candle sales, or you might check to see if anyone in your community makes candles at home. With local candle makers, you have a better chance of keeping your costs down and profits up.

There are literally hundreds of websites set around fund raisers that offer more ideas and a wide variety of products that your organization can provide. Fund raisers also help students understand the basics of salesmanship and are a great way to boost self-confidence.
