Their Motto: A Nice Little Place to Eat
Yesterday morning I dropped my daughter off at preschool and decided to go to a creperie down the street with my youngest daughter. I've been there before and loved it; this morning was no different. It's a small bohemian restaurant with only five or six tables inside and a couple tables outside. It feels like a quintessential neighborhood place with a great earthy vibe and local artwork on the walls. It's not your typical coffee shop with vinyl booths and a waitress named Marge. The owner/chef/barrista cooks all of the crepes behind the register where all can see. Most of the patrons said hello to one another, getting their own coffees and chit chatting. The owner seemed to know most of the patrons that came into the restaurant too. The coffees looked yummy as well. Unfortunately, I had already drunk two cups earlier, so I didn't have one. All of the crepes looked delicious. I had the salsa crepe that had avocado, cheese, olives, salsa, and sour cream. It also came with a side of potatoes that were scrumptious. Oh, and the fresh squeezed orange juice is wonderful. He juices it right in front of you.
Higher Grounds is located on Chenery at Diamond in Glen Park, San Francisco and just blocks from the Glen Park BART. I highly recommend it!
