Build Your Downline with Christian Ethics

Someone once told me that leadership is a verb, not a noun.Leaders go ahead and show the way,not just talk about it. It's do as I do not just do as I say. Leadership is guiding, directing and influencing others in a way that makes them followers, like disciples. Never act like a dictator or use guilt tactics. Josh McDowell once said "Research shows me that 5% of Christians will never make a 'disciple'! Yet these are the very marching orders that Christ gives to His church, to 'make disciples'." The most highly effective leadership techniques come from building a Christian downline. Even if all your recruits are not of the Christian faith, your ethics should be compatible with their principles, because you are teaching the right methods in the right way. Always be sure that they read and understand the policies and procedures in the company's guidelines. I've never done direct sales or multilevel marketing for a company that didn't have strict, ethical guidelines. At United First Financial the standards are highly ethical and I really appreciate that. If you recruit someone who doesn't meet the ethics or guidelines, don't be too concerned 'the undesirables will weed themselves out'. I learned this principle from a very wise woman who was my upline recruiter in my first venture into the world of direct sales over 35 years ago. It has always been proven to be true.

Learn and Teach

If you can influence even one other person in your Multi Level Marketing or Direct Sales downline you can consider your self successful. Find and follow a Christian mentor in the company who has already shown the way, learn their techniques and then teach those methods to your downline.Be enthusiastic, get your downline excited and they will keep you enthused and excited. If you don't feel as if you have a charismatic personality don't worry about it. Be passionate about what you are trying to accomplish and tenacious in bringing out the best in yourself and those you are working with. We've all seen ordinary people do extraordinary things.

So, to recap.. highly effective leadership techniques include:

1, Be ethical in your own dealings

2. Guide, direct, and influence others

>

3. Build a Christian downline

4. Be enthusiastic and excited ( about who you are working for, what you are selling, and who you are teaching )

5.Be passionate and tenacious

6.  Learn and teach...eventually you will find that you are learning from the very ones you are teaching!
