So what do you do when you find yourself lost while driving, with no direction home, feeling like a complete unknown?

Just press the ON button of your car's GPS system, and Bob Dylan will be there to save the day. That's right - Instead of an anonymous, albeit friendly voice helping you navigate through your next car trip, it could be the voice of Bob Dylan guiding you safely to your destination.

The legendary singer and rock icon is in the negotiating stages to nab a lucrative monopoly as the GPS voice for two top automobile manufacturers.

Leave that old-fashioned road map at home.

Gone are the days when we took road maps and travel atlases with us whenever we were driving in unfamiliar territory. Modern motorists no longer have to pull over to the side of the road to consult their blurry road maps, or pull in to the nearest gas station when they get lost on their way to Grandma's house.

With just the push of a button and entering a few specifics about our destination, your car's GPS system will get you there, even monitoring traffic conditions and suggesting alternate routes.

Many new cars come with a GPS system as an attractive option or already installed at the factory.

But you can also buy a GPS system for your vehicle and install it yourself. Many come with numerous, easy-to-use features, and are very affordable. Your GPS will ensure your safe and timely arrival next time your travel to an unfamiliar destination.

Here's how it works:

Bob Dylan has already done several commercials for products, including Pepsi and Victoria's Secret.

Victoria's Secret? Hmm...I will have to think about that one for a minute.

He has even done a commercial for Cadillac, although he doesn't do a lot of talking in this one:

I happen to think Bob Dylan has a great singing voice, but I'm not so sure about his speaking voice.

Usually the voice of your GPS navigator is a cheery, brisk voice carefully enunciating every single syllable, which wouldn't exactly describe Bob Dylan's speaking voice. His is more like a quiet, soothing voice you might hear sharing stories around the campfire.

Hmm, maybe that's what they are going for.

Dylan? Really? I prefer a sexy, feminine voice myself, like Rita Hayworth or Jessica Rabbit (I don't know who does her voice...Yet). I want a fridge that does the same thing:

"You ice is COLD, Ssssir!"

Hahaha! Thanks cosette!

Another thumbs up for you! I'm kinda surprised by this - Dylan has such a raspy voice. It would be kinda cool, though!

Hehe when I saw this I thought it was a metaphor, like you were stressed and Bob's music would de-stress you and help you re-direct yourself. Could be a cool idea to have him personally direct you seeing as he's a trusting personality :D

thanks habee! well i can't wait to see the unveiling, although since everybody's pretty much got a GPS in their cell phones these days, they may pull the plug on it before it ever gets out the door.
