Hilary to go the way Old Yeller?
53With Obama leading with 1,365 total delegate and Hilary lagging behind at 1,268 it seems all but certain that he will be the next Democratic presidential candidate. What does this mean for Hilary? Not a lot except a respectful resignation.
It has become clear that the Democratic vote is almost evenly split, what we she does need to cause is any more slander towards Obama since he will steering the flagship of the Democrats. Hilary is no longer asking voters to decide on a candidate, she's telling them to change their minds. To change their view she has been downplaying her opponent thus possibly hindering his election chances. The last thing we need is another divided country. Hilary has been hitting Obama hard recently with criticism over his health care policy and fund raising practices. Do we really need to attack someone this popular at the personal level and possibly sway the minds of voters?
Hilary's main argument against Obama is his lack of experience and he is not ready to lead the country. Despite every attack on his character, Obama deflected each one while keeping his composure. The attacks seem to me like a desperate last ditch effort to try and sway the voting masses. It is important for both candidates to focus on the future of our country and the good of the people rather than negative aspects of each other's candidacy. The contrasts between the two are distinct enough to separate their political beliefs without needing to throw dirt in each other's faces.
One admirable trait of Hilary is her desire to win, but at what costs? It can't be argued that she has a wealth of supports, however, imagine if rather than dividing the party she united them in favor of Obama. Now that is a powerful candidacy. For the good of her party and the nation she should stand down. It is time to put her personal interests aside and think about the country, which is what every candidate should hold true.
