Beats boomed through blocks and children peeled out of the youth center with smiles, DVD’s and bellies full of BBQ treats.

DJ Ace adjusts the style every time the crowd changed. When the Flores family walk on the scene the beats went from reggaeton to underground hip-hop.

Old familiar cuts force Destri Sr. to bust out with old school b-boy moves. Destri Flores used to dance with KRS 1’s crew and is a well known b-boy in the Los Angeles hip-hop scene. His 2-year-old son, Destri

Jr. has never seen his father dance quite like this. Flips, spins, shuffles and other moves mesmerized this young boy.

Fifteen minutes later Jr. was mimicking his father. Dex Jr.’s uprock didn’t look quite like his pop’s but youcould tell what he was doing. Next he would hit the ground and wiggle and spin around. His smile and amazement in learning a new skill made this Easter a memorable one.

After the Love Peace and Unity Easter event, Jr. found a new way to get the attention of beautifulwomen. Yes, this 2-year-old is a flirt! Every time he saw a pretty lady he would shuffle his feet as close ashe could to an uprock and then drop down on the floor and wiggle and spin. It lasted for a few weeks.

He got better. He did summer salts and no one knew exactly why since he was never taught. Next Destri Jr. started flipping his body 180 degrees on his head. It looked painful despite his giggling face.

Now Dex Jr. can catch some air! His handstands and flips are much better. Watching break dancers and even skaters has been a positive influence.

After learning his father’s sports skills he reconstructs that when trying to get the attention of women

and his day care classmates. If he watches football then he tends to jump and tackle everybody chanting“hut hut.”

Hip hop and skater were better influences than football.
