Personally, I love hip-hop! It is probably my favorite genre. When I was in the fifth grade I was introduced to it. I didn't even know there were other types of music. I was so sheltered and listen to whatever my parents listen to. When I started listening to a new radio station that was mainly pop and hip-hop, my mom said she thought it sounded like they were just talking. With music in the background. I disagree completely. Now rap? That's a different story. Because you are talking but you are talking super fast and you need to have rhythm in there. But I'm not saying everyone can rap. I surely cant. Especially when it comes to freestyle.
In hip-hop you need to have a good voice. And unlike rap, hip-hop needs music to it. So you can't just talk. You have to sing a bit.. Or hold a couple notes. I like hip-hop, mostly, because there aren't a bunch of love songs. I mean there are SOME of course. But most of the songs are better than "I miss you baby.. I love you sweetie". I like a cute, love song once in awhile! Can you blame me?... I'm a girl! But I prefer songs that make me smile and I just can't keep a from cracking a smile when I'm dancing or singing to: "Shut Up" - Black Eyed Peas, or "2 Step (Remix) - Unk, or even "Lean Like a Cholo" - Down, etc.
My 12 favorite hip-hop songs are:
(not in any specific order)
(sorry, I was gonna do my 10 favorites, but than I had to add extras, just because they are all so great!)
- 2 Step (remix) - Unk featuring T-Pain, Jim Jones and E-40
- You Know What It Is - T.I. featuring Wyclef
- The Hand Clap - Hurricane Chris featuring Big Poppa and Hollywood Bay Bay
- Sweetest Girl - Wyclef Jean featuring Akon, Lil Wayne, and Niia
- Stronger - Kanye West
- Last Night - P. Diddy featuring Keyshia Cole
- Crank That - Soulja Boy
- Take You There - Sean Kingston
- Lean Like a Cholo - Down
- Snap Yo Fingers - Lil Jon featuring E-40 and Sean Paul
- Laffy Taffy - D4L
- Grillz - Nelly featuring Paul Wall Ali, and Gipp
I like other genres of course but I love hip-hop. It is fun, and every song is unique. There are songs on everything! I know that not everybody feels the same. But hopefully you will like some of the songs from my little list.
Stronger - Kanye West
Last Night - P. Diddy Feat. Keyshia Cole
Sweetest Girl - Wyclef feat. Akon, Lil Wayne, Niia

I like Sean Kingston too. He has a cool Reggae vibe. Great Hub.
Sean Kingston is awesome! Such an amazing accent. And Solar.... I'm glad I am not alone on how great hip-hop is! It is powerful and inspirational.
I enjoy hip hop as well. It's my 2nd favorite genre next to R&B. Good idea for a hub.
I enjoy R&B but I often forget about it when I am thinking of genres of music
