The Cardinal started out as an armature team and in 1913 turned professional.

After the team had to disband a few times the last time because of WWI.Late in the year of 1918 the owner put the team back together and has been a professional football team since.

Which makes the Cardinals The longest running professional football team.Which is a big part of the history of the Arizona Cardinals.

After having a couple different team names the team was called the Chicago Cardinals where they remained as such until 1960. Then the team moved to St.Louis Missouri. Making them the St. Louis Cardinals.

Before the 1988 season the team moved to Tempe Arizona.At this time the team played at Sun Devil Stadium. Until moving to there new modern day facility. And the team is now called The Arizona Cardinals.
