Halsey Taylor

Halsey Taylor is the person who invented the drinking water fountains. He was inspired build these fountains when his father died because of typhoid. This typhoid was caused because his father has some contaminated water. Then at a later stage when he was working with a motor car company he saw people were having the dysentery because of the contaminated drinking water.

This kind of motivated to become an advocate of the safe drinking water at public places. He lost his father in 1896 and in 1912 he developed a water fountain started a manufacturing plant. This manufacturing plant was set up in Warren Ohio.

The world war I also had the same problem and that meant again Halsey should develop something more proper and he came up with a double bubbler.

Halsey Taylor is now a big manufacturing company which makes all sorts of drinking water fountains.

Luther Haws

In the city of Berkley California there was this sanitation inspector as well as the plumber and the sheet metal contractor all rolled into one. In the public schools he was that children were drinking from the shared tin cups. He was horrified to see that as that was absolutely unhygienic.

This motivated him to assemble the first drinking faucet. This faucet is still now used and has been instrumental in making the Haws manufacturing company. That company still exists and ahs facility in Sparks Nevada.

What’s ADA approved.

ADA is a law which is known as American Disabilities Act which says in respect of drinking water fountains that at all places wherever the drinking water fountains are employed that they should be at such a height that it can be easily accessible with people who are wheel chair bound.

Drinking water fountains are usually wall mounted ones and there those which are free standing ones. The wall mounted ones are usually in places where there is a recess in the wall and in usually enclosed public places and by that I mean indoors. The new trend is to have specially made indoor water fountains which are only for decoration and not for drinking but they give that serene effect to whole home

Safe and Healthy Water with Beauty

Most of the public parks and schools you will usually have the water fountains which are free standing.

A lot of corporate also use the drinking water fountains. These water fountains now come with the power coating which can be used to make sure that any color can be there for the fountains.

In fact earlier the only color that you will be having is the stainless steel but now with powder coating available it is easy to use any color.

These two gentlemen actually provide a great service to humanity and society and it has helped all the people in the USA as well as the worked to have safe water to drink and be saved from fatal water borne diseases.
