History of National Corndog Day

National Corndog Day got its start in the town of Corvallis, Oregon in March, 1992 when two boys were watching the Final 32 of the NCAA men's college basketball tournament on a Saturday afternoon.

The boys had been munching on chips and soda when one of the dad's decided they needed food with sustenance to keep their attention focused on the day's tournament games. It was the middle of the third day when one of the dad's made corndogs. Along with the corndogs were choices of condiments such as mustard or ketchup. The boys gobbled the corndogs as they were placed in front of them.

Since that day in March of 1992, National Corndog day has been celebrated on a regular basis.
