Lord, I'ts Been One of Those Days, Will You Hold Me While I Cry?
76Have you ever had "one of those days" when nothing seemed to be going right and everything seemed to be going haywire? You felt out of control and so did the world?
Maybe your kid missed the bus so you decide to drive him to school. You race to the car and buckle up the little ones while reminding your son to buckle up. Finally, you're all settled in and the car won't start. You finally have the neighbor volunteer to give him a lift and you feel so relieved. You walk into the house just as the neighbor drives off only to discover that your son has forgot his lunch. You ring the neighbor's cell phone and she turns around but seems a little irritated.
You finally get your son safely off to school and walk into the kitchen to find out that your 4 year old has spilled her milk all over the floor and is crying she's "sorry, it was a mi-take, Mommy." You calm her down and reassure her that you still love her and turn around to find that your toddler has the whole box of cereal scattered all over the floor and is feeding the dog. Then the phone rings and you race over to it and answer it only to find out that it was "the wrong number." About that time the dog accidentally nips the baby's fingers and he starts screaming.
I think you have the picture.
We've all had days similar to this although we may have different scenarios. Our frustration builds to the point that all that there is left to do is just cry.
Maybe we even have things that are more serious. These are very uncertain times in which we live. Maybe a sick loved one or the death of a loved one has sent you reeling. Maybe some tragedy like a storm or a fire has taken away your home. Many have lost their jobs and are wondering how they will support their family. Whatever the case, people can only take so much stress at a time. What do we do with it? How can we actually cope with the stresses of day to day life?
We Have A Friend
When we're at the end of our rope, we have someone to hold us up. When we are nearly knocked over by the wind of our "storm" we have an anchor. His name is Jesus Christ.
You may wonder, "Does Jesus really care about my problems?
I could tell you the answer, but I think it would be better to look at His own words and some other passages in the Bible to show you the answer.
In Matthew 11:28-29, Jesus says in His own words...
28Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
29Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.
And there are also other passages that show us that He cares...
Philippians 4:6, 7 (King James Version)
6Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.
7And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
I Peter 5:6,7 (King James Version)
6Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time:
7Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.
Proverbs 18:24 (King James Version)
24A man that hath friends must shew himself friendly: and there is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother.
So as you can see He does care. He understands more than we do. Many don't realize the difference that Jesus can make. He's not a religious crutch as many believe. He's our Maker, our burden bearer, our salvation and our friend. He wants to have a friendship with you...that's why He created you!
He came to earth in the form of man and suffered the same things that we do. He was rejected, despised and persecuted. He was misunderstood and hated. (Just like He still is today). But he loves just the same. He loves everyone with a love that is unconditional...not the "I'll love you if you if you love me" kind of love. His love reaches far beyond our understanding.
He told us in the Bible that life would be tough at times. He said in John 16:33...
These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.
So whenever life becomes stressing...whether it's just the common everyday stresses of parenthood or something as serious as losing an income...Jesus wants you to talk to Him about it. If all you can do is cry, let Him hold you while you do.

That's right, Steve! Excellent words of wisdom.
What a great hub, blessedmommy! I thought days were supposed to be like that? LOL! It happens more than we'd like, doesn't it?
Great job! Beautiful song. I'm bookmarking it so i can come back tomorrow when the dog is eating cereal off the floor with the 3 year old. (Have you been peeking in my windows?)
LOL No, I didn't peek in the windows:) I think that these types of things are common among moms with little ones. Even more so than some moms are willing to admit.
It reminds me of when one of my brothers was about a year old. My mom was a pastor's wife and we had a group of Christian college kids that were going to hold us a service to help support their school. She was going to fix dinner for all of them before the service and she had a gorgeous pistachio cake that she had set in the dining room. Well, my little brother got real quiet and when Mom found him both he and the floor was wearing that pistachio cake. He enjoyed that cake so much but those poor college kids never knew a thing about it!
That's just one of literally thousands of examples that I could post. But I guess this one came to mind because this is the same brother that just became a dad yesterday. (I guess his payday's coming)!!!
Bake him a pistachio cake for a congrats gift. He'd probably get a kick out of that!
HA! HA! What a GREAT SUGGESTION!!! He would get a kick out of that!
Blessedmommy,
I am so glad that He holds me while I cry.
Thank you for the reminder. ~ eddie

Beautifully done Blessed Mommy - thanks (or mahalo!).
Thanks, Chhristine! I appreciate that nice comment - glad you like it!
Awesome message. We all suffer sometimes, but knowing God is there is enlightening! Thanks. :)
Thanks for the beautiful hub sis, I needed that and I am sure many other mommies do too!
Hi Blessedmommy, I do that a lot and find comfort in being enfolded in His arms. God does love so wonderfully...thanks for an uplifting hub. :-) God bless you.
Jesus saves: When we realize that we can't live without the Lord...He holds our very breath in His hand...When we understand these things not only do we see how much we need Him, but we see how much He really cares.
Thanks, singingmommy, for coming by to visit. I'm always glad to hear from my little sister!
Ripplemaker: Isn't it wonderful just being held in His arms! I love Him so much, He makes life worth living!

Very nice Hub blessedmommy! We are never alone :)
DarleneMarie: Thank you! You are right about never being alone! He is so faithful! God bless.
The title was so catchy that I couldn't miss reading it. So true that when everything seems to be going against you and you can't take it anymore, you just have to hold on and put your trust in God because that's exactly the moment when the tide will turn.
Great thoughts! Great Hub!
Perfect timing. It has been one of those days, weeks, months. I really appreciate the words of wisdom.
This will be comforting to many people - glad you were led to write it.
THAT WAS AN ENCOURAGING INSPIRATION THAT HAS A TWIST TO KNOW EVEN THOUGH GOD IS STILL AS AWESOME NOW AS HE WAS THEN BE BLESSED AND I TRULY THANK YOU AS A MOTHER OF 5.
lucille_01: I'm so glad that you took the time to come by and comment. You and your five children are blessed to have each other. I'm sure that you'll agree that it's worth every stressful but blessed minute. I'm the oldest of five children myself and have three of my own. According to my mom parenting doesn't stop when your kids are grown. My mom still cries and laughs with us, gives advice and grandmothers our babies and worries about them too. Even though we're grown we still need comfort from time to time and if you're like me maybe very often. Sometimes our mothers can't be there and many have lost their moms but it's certainly wonderful when the Lord comes by to hold and comfort us as his children.
Happy Mother's Day to lucille_01 and to all mother's who read this!

Beautiful song. Great words too.
There is a peace that is far above our comprehension. And it is ours if we just know Who to ask for it.
