Are you searching for a last minute holiday gift idea? If you are looking for the perfect gift for someone who has everything and loves to cook, you can't go wrong with a gift of an assortment of good quality spices.
Everyone who enjoys cooking loves having a variety of different spices on hand. Even if the cooking guru on your list already owns a beautiful spice rack or two, it's a fact that he or she will work through the bottles and jars filled with aromatic flavorings. For an individual who enjoys preparing new recipes, it's really not possible to have too many flavorful ingredients on hand.
Choosing Spices for Gift Giving
There are two ways to approach purchasing spices as gifts. You can choose the types of spices that the recipient is likely to use (and have to replace) on a regular basis. Such a gift is always appreciated, as it results in a financial savings in the long run.
However, if you want your gift to be a special treat, you might want to choose pricey spices (such as saffron) that the recipient might consider to be a luxury item. Either way, you're gift will be appreciated and make a lasting impression.
When selecting spices to give as gifts, you should stop and think about how the person you are buying for likes to cook. Someone who really enjoys grilling might like to receive a selection of dry rubs. An individual who likes to prepare Mexican food will appreciate a collection of spices frequently used in his or her favorite dishes. A baking enthusiast will be thrilled with a collection of high quality, flavorful extracts.
The Perfect Gift
One thing that makes foodies very easy to purchase gifts for is the fact that their hobby is one that utilizes consumable ingredients. Even if you purchase a spice that the person already owns, your gift will come in very handy before very much time goes by. It isn't possible that anyone who cooks on a regular basis has all of the spices that he or she is ever going to need.
When you select a spice rack set or individual jars of spices as a gift for the cooking enthusiasts on your gift list, you're sure to bring smiles to their faces. If you combine your gift a spices with a new cookbook, the gift will be extra-special. You might even get a dinner invitation, so that you have a chance to taste test the results of your thoughtful gift!

The spices are a great idea. We gave my mother-in-law a set of Emeril spices a few years ago and she talked about them for six months!
