Minneapolis Minnesota Holidazzle Christmas Parade
Minneapolis MN
Minneapolis is a beautiful and exciting city. From the arts and Museums to Music and Theater, Minneapolis MN never leaves you with the option of 'nothing to do.' The winter is no exception. Go ice-skating on lakes, ponds and community center fields. Skiing down the hills or cruising cross-country on the snow-covered trails. Any sport or recreation in the snow is of abundance in the Twin Cities.
But the one thing I must advise you to attend is the Holidazzle Parade on Nicollet Mall in Minneapolis.
Holidazzle Parade
The Holidazzle Parade is a popular Minnesota tradition. People far and wide come to see the lights and dazzle of this annual event. With over 200 costumed characters, you and your family are sure to find a favorite from your own childhood stories.
This year will mark the 19th year of this fantastic and wonderous event.
The parade originally began in the early 1990's as a way to drive in shoppers for downtown businesses but has become a must-do tradition for all in the area and surrounding. The parade is currently sponsored by Target Corporation who has also sponsored the State Street Parade in Chicago IL.
Local bands, choirs and sponsors make this event exciting for all! Whether you are a child or an adult, this really is a memorable event to plan with your family.
Commonly referred to as the 'Parade of Lights' the Holidazzle delivers just that. Floats full of lights that delight the young and young at heart. Holiday music fills the streets with dancing elves and beloved characters of Christmas that we have all grown to love.
And of course, what Holiday parade would be complete without the attendance of Santa Clause? He makes it a yearly to-do on his Christmas list.
Grand Marshal
There are many Grand Marshal's scheduled for the 2010 parade.
Big names like:

And local favorites from KSTP-5 WCCO-4 and Fox 9 News.
Don't Forget the Food
You would think watching the display of lights and music would be enough. Oh goodness no.
Vendors will be available to by those warm little donuts with cocoa or hot cider. There are numerous stores downtown to do all your Christmas shopping and dine at as well.
